The drone is a breeze to fly for beginners, as long as you stat in NORMAL mode. There is a 70 year old man at my field that bought the DJI FPV and he flys it in normal mode with zero experience and has a great time. So much so that he just bought the motion controller.

I'm 1 of 2 people in my flying club that owns 1. And I happen to be the youngest 1 at 55. Anytime there are children who come with their parents I let them fly. So far the youngest at 6 years old using the motion controller and they fly just fine most for the 1st time

I’ve had those GoPro nuts fall out on me from other mounting options. I would absolutely recommend leaving the screw in place even when you’re not flying to keep tension on that nut and hopefully keep it in place. I think you’d be less likely to lose it and mess up a prop in the process with tension in it vrs having the vibrations shake it lose. Only think to be cautious with in that case is to not apply too much tension, as the three rounded pieces could bend in and deform or break. Safe flying!

I can't help feeling most people aren't into racing or acrobatics but want a cinematic quality drone, where they can also experience FPV, without having to fork $1300 for goggles & a smart controller, on top of the cost of their drone. I'm sure if dji packaged the Air 2S, for example, in the same way as their FPV drone, it would be a real winner.

The aerodynamic guard is for when you put a gopro on the drone, because the dji cam is bad in comparison, you get a bit of extra flight time perhaps with it on

I think the FPV camera is perfectly fine, especially if you can fly smooth. Adding an extra camera is ridiculous in my opinion. People just need to learn how to use their tools.

OK, so I cannot fly my drone inacro mode. Does that mean I’m unable to put my Insta 360 one r on top. Because I tried it… And when I went to take off, it nosed dived into the ground. It could not handle the weight. Is there a setting or something that I’m missing. Or do I have to fly it in manual and compensate power manually to fly this thing. Does flying the drone in dummy mode, not have the ability to fly with the extra weight? What did I do wrong?

It should fly fine in NORMAL mode. My guess is you may have had an issue with GPS signal loss which is required for the NORMAL mode. No GPS is required in MANUAL Mode.

I never understood why people use landing pads…that is until I tried to take off in grass without one. My mini 2 turned into a lawn mower and wouldn’t take off the grass wasn’t even that long. So needless to say I’m going to pick one up.

landing pads are also a safety for when you fly at a park or locations where people visit. If a landing pad is seen, people will stay clear.

Great video and great accessory for the DJI FPV. Now when the drone tried to land on the folding landing pad and the wind from the drone flipped one side over. It could of destroyed the props when they hit the pad. After watching that I would Toss that right in the trash.

Great channel....appreciate your professionalism. I'm not surprised the plastic lens cover shows distortion...unfortunately, as something I would use otherwise. I have a question: I'm wondering how you managed to independently control the 360 camera while flying the drone?

With a 360 degree camera, you don't control anything in flight. Think about it... the camera is recording 360 degree view, so when you play back the image you have a 360 degree video, and in order to place that video into a 16 x 9 video format, you just scroll around the image and point in any direction you wish when editing. The great thing about the INSTA360 R is that it has its own editing software that you download and it is super simple to use.

Same with me! yesterday I was flying in S mode and the drone started to fall to the left at high speed for no reason, I dropped the controller and it didn't stop! Lucky I pressed the RTH button fast and the drone stopped. Soon after I tried to land and the drone did not respond to the landing.. this accessory is definitely blocking the GPS

Mine is waiting on me and I pick it up Saturday. I got. I got it from Amazon I recently had 2 other mounts.. One that mounts further forward and 1 that sits over the back where the fins are. The one that sits further forward than the smallrig block GPS signal to the point where it would not return home and it limited the height in flight. The one that sat where the fins are as soon as it took off the esc showed in the goggles and before I could get it down on the ground one of the motors ripped itself from the mount. I was using an insta360. I ordered the arm and the motor for a total cost of $47 shipping handling at all. I did a video of it but it doesn't look as good as any of yours lol so it may not get posted. I live at the altitude of El Paso Texas and it's a desert. All of this may have something to do with it. Neither of the mounts that I've already used performed very well. The drone shook uncontrollably at hover. I did post a video of the 1st mount on KZbin. Even worse was the one that mounted where the fins go. That ome caused the crash and the repair. But it didn't block the GPS signal. When I get the smallrig system I'll take it slow. But I would absolutely love to hear your hypothesis. Could it be the altitude and the desert?

Cool review. In M mode (turned on) you should be able to adjust the fpv camera angle to whatever you like to fly (35°? 40°?) and then match the GoPro.

One would think it would be that easy but nope. If you put it in M mode on the ground the camera barely moves, but when it gets in the air, it moves further.

Cool video cap. Maybe the biggest issue with the camera on top would be if you try to squeeze it in some tight space (like the kids slides). As far as I can see the only issue for you was the raib on the lens. How are you managing the heatwave? Over here Canada is all over the news.

reviews sat the bracket with a gopro on it blocks the GPS from getting a Satalight lock, is this true? I value the RTH over this marginal increase in value. did the fins do anything?

External Cameras and bracket have zero effect on GPS or RTH.

I have tested lately this simmilar mount with GoPro Session 5. After I push to record ... gps was lost, number of gps was 0. I turn off connections on this gopro and this not helped. Enybody test this dji fpv with gopro session 5?

Captain. Would there be any clearance issues with the rear vertical stabilisers (fins) and different types of props, such as Master Air Screw.

Yes. Master Airscrew Props are longer so you have to remove the fins if you use such props.

Nope. Action cams can't record in low light because they use the light to create stability, so if you use an action cam in low light it can't move or else things look terrible.
