I'm so stoked for people just getting into the game now. This is a really solid starter card in my opinion! Especially for those who want to build out the Chase Trifecta one day. I just hope they raise the base earning rate of the CFU now or that one becomes a lot less powerful... Great review Adam!

Applied this morning online. Application said pending review. Called Chase hotline and received a two week message. This afternoon checked for status and it said 5-7 days for outcome. Called reconsideration line and was approved for $1500. Currently bank with Chase and have $1586 available in checking account. Official FICO score from Experian is “unscorable” when I applied today. Denied at Discover a few weeks ago. Told to apply for secured card. Glad I didn’t. Excited to start my Chase journey.

The credit hotline SUCKS!!! If you HAVE TO calm them for an expedited processing, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ASK FOR A MANAGER / SUPERVISOR!!!! They tried denying me because they said after reviewing my application, they thought it was fraudulent. Obviously I got PISSED and yelled at the stupid guy for about 10 minutes, asked for a supervisor, and he said that she was just going to tell me the same exact thing. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. She was SUPER nice, re-did my entire application, expedited it, and got me approved in 15min!!!! She was amazing!!

I love how honest this guy is honestly. He isn't biased or paid, you can absolutely tell when he recommends the discover card as a starter card first if you can get it, then chase as the 2nd option if you get declined. Discover it was my first card 2018 and I just gave them a 500 safe deposit and like 6 months later they give it back to me and stuff. Discover has the categories, a much better option and has the bonus.

I just applied for the chase Freedom Rise as of Yesterday. I’m still waiting. This is what chase said after I applied…. “We'll let you know our decision in writing as soon as we can. = If you're approved, you'll receive your card in 7 to 10 business days. Anybody know what this means? Did anyone else receive something like this?” Please let me know 😮 Thanks

The 250 makes since if it’s a secured card that’s just chase way of u setting up a checking account with them very sneaky and misleading chase. Chase need to do the pre approval system like amex before jumping the gun.

I’m 18 and got the freedom Student in February, just called today to change my card to the rise, at least now I’m getting a 1.5% back lol *Update* after 1 month I was able to get my card upgraded AGAIN to the regular %5 Freedom. Loving Chase so far

No the freedom unlimited and freedom flex get 3X on dining and there’s other multiple point categories

​@@diamondwarrior420u can get the sign up bonus 2 times with the unlimited and the flex and a likely % gas grocery with flex and unlimited for a year on each. Meaning when u run out of 5% gas grocery with one card, you could apply for the next one and get the bonus and gas+groceries all over again making it 2 years. Also the freedom unlimited has insurance and high protection benifits. It makes no sense to use the rise in replacement for the unlimited as the rise is a very dumbed down version of the unlimited (and the 1.5 on the unlimited would be more future proofed because it may go up to 2) Rise is to get your foot in the door and then you get the flex, unlimited, lastly the preferred or reserve.

I’m sure you could. I had a Chase Slate for a few years then changed to Freedom Unlimited then got a CLI to a Freedom Unlimited Visa Signature

I think this is a good option for someone new to credit cards who specfically knows they want to start churning cards, it makes it easier to get into the chase ecosystem without having to burn a 5/24 slot on discover or C1

Freedom Rise will eventually become an Unltd after a year of use. All you need is 1 purchase in the last 12 months, on time payments to lenders, and no suspended accounts at Chase.

Is 30 days enough to apply for another Chase card? I got the CFU on June 10 and plan on applying for the CFF on July 10. I have a high credit score and nowhere near the Chase 5/24 limit
