We will never forget flying in from our travels in Gautemala and immediately jumping aboard Avocet for an adventure to Yelapa. Couldn't be happier life lined up the way it did that cruising season and we were able to make memories to last a lifetime. We love you, our Cheoylee family, until next time you three crazy coconuts ❤⛵

Yelapa is a small fishing village located on the west coast of Mexico, near Puerto Vallarta. It is a great destination for those looking for peace and connection with nature.

Back in the mid 70s I stayed in Yelapa, no electricity, the local hang out was called the Yacht club, and if you wanted to find your way to your hutch at night, the Bar tender would lend you a Tin can with a candle inside, it was scary trying to negotiate your way home around bolders that all looked the same,

Where are all the palapas? I was looking forward to watching you anchor there. We missed the first time. 400’ of hand cranking.
@sailingavocet2 ай бұрын
Palapas are on the shore, there is no anchoring there just moorings. We hear if you attempt to anchor, the pangas will harass you - can’t imagine anchoring so deep though! Wild!
@paulhenry81742 ай бұрын
@@sailingavocet there was a little ledge at 40’ on the right side about half way back but I heard there was only space for one boat. I don’t remember the mooring balls at all. We followed very similar passages and I love your filmmaking. Oh, this was during the first gulf war in the ‘90s.
