Well they did not really kill it, disable it yes, but a random mad scientist could put it back together if they retrieved all the peices. Of course I highly doubt that said pieces are not under the most secure defences imaginable. And even then they are most definetly not stored in the same place.

Besides knowing how people are, they probably had the remains collected so they could find a way to improve their robots or something.
