New Dalek Design!!! (Doctor Who 60th Anniversary)

Apologies for the clickbaity title and thumbnail, just having some fun. I made a new Dalek design! Celebrating 60 years of the best TV show ever made with a 60s inspired Dalek design.

I don't say this lightly, but this a perfect design. The bumps being inset within the skirt is a nifty idea I never even considered. The ring-like mid section feels futuristic, and you can assume that the banded-shape is still a solar panel, just wrapped around the casing. You clearly thought this entirely through and through and it's appreciated. The neckpiece design you chose to do appeals to me as well. I can imagine how this Dalek would be animated and/or operated already. Stellar stuff. Happy 60th Anniversary.

@@DalekchrisProductionsabsolutely smashing design, if there’s anything that I would change about it is maybes have the lens of the eyestalk be green like how imperial daleks were shown from their viewing angle in Remembrance of the daleks , it would look more like the camera on a battle tank but that’s just my personal opinion

I love how the lower gunbox ring looks like it would have a really easy time spinning around like the Metaltron uses its midsection in "Dalek." My only actual issue with the design is honestly the large lip on the fender which looks like you could stand on it while holding the gunstick and manipulator while the Dalek flies, as silly as that sounds. Also the "would you care for some tea" intro is really cute but I also feel bad for the little one having dropped it.

Something about the marriage of the blue Hartnell / _Dead Planet_ casings with the golden / bronze middle-section strips of the AARU Daleks really pops ay. OK, in fairness this is basically AARU colouration but I still love the mix of warm and cool tones on the Daleks’ casings 👍

Absolutely beautiful, I hope the bbc see this because this is probably the best dalek design I’ve ever seen, on the show or fan made. I hope at least that fans will make builds of this if the bbc doesn’t pick it up

The Hartnell Daleks were silver/grey and blue too. Also, they had the large bases in the 2nd Hartnell Dalek story " Dalek invadion of Earth ", both of which pre-date the Cushing films.

Well, sure. Except the bases I designed don’t have extra bases on top of them that match the skirt shape, making my design far closer to the movie than the show approach to that base design, and the blue dome and the light blue body are specifically what I’m talking about being from the movie, not just the silver and blue colors. Also, in the movie you can actually see the colors, the show didn’t have an official colorization until the day I released this video. Sure we all know what those colors were, but still, I’m riffing on the movie with a lot of those choices

I've often dabbled in designing daleks as a hobbie, in particular i've recently been experimenting with a monocromatic tapers in the vertexs of the skirting and splitting the slat rings in the mid section to harken back to the original design.

I like the time war design as seen on the big finish trailer, but always preferred the design by Wayne Peters which you can find on KZbin and his website which I believe more closely resembles the description in war of the Daleks. I’d like to see your take on it when you get a moment.

7:22 I did it for my own design, but why not merge the slats with the upper band to make it a little more bulky than the lower one?

To be honest, we have had numerous redesigns, to the point it is just a redesign for the sake of redesign. At this point, just pick the best design from 60 years. Look at the doctor who logo, they just chose one of the most iconic logos, instead of pointlessly making a new logo for the 100th time. Also the daleks are going to be retired so there is not much point.
