The design of this palette is genius. I haven’t been wowed by a product design in a long time so it’s reinvigorating in a way. I won’t be picking it up since I bought last years light work palette. I love how each pan comes out and if you take all of them out it’s like an empty Z palette that you can put anything in.

I LOVE Danessa Myricks. I use many products from her line and they are my ride or die! (Groundwork, blooming romance, yummy skin tint, primer balm, colorfix) This one is too colorful for me but I will buy any neutralish groundwork palette she puts out. This is a brilliant idea because this can go with those palettes and it’s magnetic. I already put some pink shimmer shadows in my blooming romance palette. Thank you Rebecca!

Hi Rebecca! Thank you for investing in this Danessa Myricks palette. The packaging of this palette is really well-designed - genius in fact. Unfortunately I am not a fan of the shades. I wish I could purchase the empty shell and fill it with shades I know I will use. (Remember the Hourglass 3-pan and 5-pan? The shades in my 5-pan are my most used shadows - and I have panned 4 of them twice). Thanks again.

Very pretty palette that unfortunately I would most likely never use. I agree, Danessa Myricks never ceases to amaze. She seems like a really nice lady. What a talent! I wish her products were made somewhere other than China. I try to avoid Chinese products as much as possible. At the same time I can understand why one may choose to do business with a Chinese company. ❤

I think $120 is a reasonable price for this beautiful, innovative product. Where I live, it's closer to $200, so while I think it's still worth it, it's tipped over into being unattainable for me personally. Have fun with it, and hopefully, in the future, she will make some smaller palettes so I can grab a few 😊

On a different topic, i have been pondering buying an Hourglass palette and wondering about the bronzer shades. I think these are all new bronzers and it is hard to know if the shades would work better for me than other Hourglass bronzers that I have, and I have heard other people express concern about bronzers too since it is hard to make them work if they are not the exact right shade. I think it would be worth it for you to just do a swatching video of all the Hourglass shades that you have in the Warm California Sunshine, so that people who have one or more Hourglass bronzers already can see how they compare. I think there could be enough to discuss with regard to this that it could be a short video rather than just a photo. Thanks! ❤

Good Morning Rebecca! Such great packaging with this palette! Pretty shades as blush and highlights. Yes, DM is still delving into her creative muse while some other artists have become stale. Glad you were able to do some subtle looks. That is helpful. I would love if her next palette were a bit more toned down. More of a “neutral” palette with maybe shades of browns. A bit more subtle. This palette is worth it for those who want to take risks and have fun fancy make up pretty much daily or at least every single weekend. If that’s not you, then this is fun but not necessary. Does that make sense?

@NotFitforPrintBeauty I hate that 5 shades back up to each other, not separate. But the formula is crazy intense and the shades are so pretty in the pan. I can not describe how they are even better when used. The black is a rare, true, black as well.

I love love love the innovative packaging, I kinda agree with others though for a made in China makeup palette the price point is so high. I also am not sure why but the color story and the shadows don’t intrigue me as much as past light works palettes… they are beautiful but I’m not feeling it. I have heard, but in far from an expert that it depends where it’s made in China and what the standards are at the factory. Apparently all made in China is not created equal? But I’m not sure about that

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I honestly have palettes made in China and I’m not against that at all for me, it’s more that it shouldn’t cost that much because I know that it’s generally a lot cheaper made in China versus other countries. There is great quality eyeshadows from all countries I imagine I just question how much the markup is and obviously ingredients can vary widely, that said Danessa does seem to be very on top of making sure things are vegan and paraben free etc.

Not that quality products can’t be made in China, but I’ve never understood why DM would decide to produce her line in China. If her brand was made in the US or Europe I would be more inclined to pay attention to her brand. While this is very innovative packaging, my brain just sees two lbs of magnets made in China when I look at this palette 🤷🏻‍♀️

I worked for a company as an import specialist for goods coming from China. There are certain items I would never purchase that are made in China, and cosmetics are at the top of that list.

Still, we are all aware that manufacturing in China is WAY cheaper which is why companies choose that option over USA, France, Italy, etc. So I still feel this is extremely overpriced for makeup made in China, given pan size, etc. So many indie brands could get this done in China for 1/3rd of the retail cost, while not burdening us with all that plastic. Just all feels excessive.

I am so conflicted lol I bought last year's light work palette I love but it don't last in my lids almost vanished after 4 hours lol I put primer on I always do but the formula of them was just melts in my eyes lol absolutely stunning I love last years release I absolutely love this one it's stunning in every way!! I want to wait to pick it up next week if I do but I'm afraid it will be sold out lol but I don't want to buy now in fear of it selling out.. Love the concept of the palette but the colors just don’t work for me. I’m glad I watched the video as some of the colors, duo chrome are more workable than I thought. But in each of the 6 in a pan maybe 2-3 work which is certainly less than half. I can understand it seems very creative and inspiring for DM but wish some not bold colors. Again, great video and hope she might do another version.

Why do some look black in the thumbnail? I want to get this one, and the multichromes don’t seem blackened in this one (they are in the pride one) but that one shot makes me worry!
