”Data” is just so cool! All jokes aside the PC 3000 has been around quite some time now, but has evolved to what it is now ( hardware,software revisions ) great tool, your going to like what you can do with that one! 👍😎

Wow as some one on the microelectronics side I am really impressed with the quality. I am surprised that a wafer probe type setup could be made on a PCB.

This is what you get for $5000. They use some of the best connectors in the industry in these kits. And you wouldn't complain about the price if you knew how much work goes into these products, and the fact that they use a very dense and fast FPGA inside these devices which can cost more than $1000 in single piece quantities.

Do you think the price of recovery for optical drives will ever come down? I have the infamous Seagate backup plus slim 2tb that stopped working. Kicking myself for putting my family photos and videos on it 🤬
@sergejpopov16464 жыл бұрын
In Russia, it`s not expensive. Our salaries are low... :)
@janglestick4 жыл бұрын
I'd be curious if you get anywhere with homebrew techniques. If youre recovering from an actual optical disc, "touch and go" still applies .. multiple attempts to create an .iso from the disc will produce multiple results which you can attempt to diff together. We used to do a low-level read and put the head down at multiple starting points, sector by sector. Sometimes trying a few different drives will produce different results. WinDirStat is probably still the best tool for getting a general handle on whats going on with a disk. Obviously, an actual optical disc succumbs to the brute-forth method better than an SSD which risks getting worse when you do too many reads, you want to avoid interrogating the directory structures unnecessarily etc.

cool stuff !! would you ever consider making a video of how to make a simple USB chasis 'shell', with the wires extending for connections to the various physically broken SSD / USB devices that you recover? (especially the ones you sand down to get to the internal connections.) I have made various versions of this mounting device, but I wonder how you make yours and what parts are ordered ready made.
@janglestick4 жыл бұрын
Did I miss the video on how to make a basic replacement 'shell' for a broken SSD or USB drive? I hope you understand what I'm asking about .. basically the opposite of these pre-prepared tools. What would be the optimal techniques for taking a useless USB flash drive, opening it up and attaching leads so that you can attach it to a drive that you are trying to recover from (and probably have bypassed the external contacts on)? Zero cost aside from wires and solder. Are there problems with maximum length for the leads? Cross talk? Does it help to limit the transfer speed? That sort of stuff? There's no other real 'authorities' on that particular subject around.

Say is there anything that can be done for a dead SD card, at some point it just decided to hang it self. When connected to a reader it just shows a grey drive but no access, CMD can't properly see it. I'm interested in the future getting data of it, but I would like to be the one recovering it. So any tips are welcome.
@hddrecoveryservices4 жыл бұрын
Data is stored in NAND flash, so if you have tools that can work by NAND protocol then there are options for recovery. However, if you just want that card recovered and nothing else, it will not make sense financially.
@soullessleftover84274 жыл бұрын
@HDD Recovery Services I couldn't care less for the card it self, data would be nice to recover. Almost every SD card I owned has corrupted itself or just decided to no longer work. So i am more than used to replacing the damn things. But this one isn't mine and I would like to just get pictures from it. So any suggestions where should i be looking for the secret knowledge, that is recovering data?

FROM THAT I REQUESTED A MORON FOR ADVICE, RECOVERY SOFTWARE AND GOT NO RESPONSE AND I KEPT USING THE PC AND NOW DO U KNOW ANY MAGIC IF MY DATA IS STILL RECOVERABLE WITHOUT ASKING ME TO SHIPING THE DRIVES... ANY MAGIC I WILL BE ABLE RECOVER THEM FROM MY LAPTOP WITHOUT ACCESSING HIS DESKTOP.. REPLY ASAP.

put in the fridge for 5 hours, then put 10 minutes in the microwave after that just open it slowly with a screwdriwer and throw part by part into the bin including the microwave. NO after that long it's almost garantied that no data is left back or unoverwritten. And how do you think that anybody can help you if you don't want to send the disc to a location where it can be worked on? If you are looking for that kind of magic, then you need some mushrooms and some LSD then it might be solved magically,.... or maybe not
