In the game itself, lore does not matter =) Any 5 champions can play together. You asked about Leona so here goes: Leona is a tanky support champion (my main in fact =D). Her role is to catch and stun people, so her teammates can kill them, and to tank damage from the enemy team. The sunflare she used in the end is her ultimate ability, and it is a stun. Just in case you don't know it, stun is making people unable to move ;)

If Ahri didnt use the charm , Darius will finish Leona .Therefore Ahri used charm and ran away.
