I bought this jack last month and used it for the first time today, to jack up the rear end of my 3200lb car. Just about the time I got the car fully raised, I heard a pop and then noticed the jack descending with hydraulic fluid pooling beneath the jack fluid; the seals had apparently blown. Before this time I had tested the jack with no load and it seemed to work fine, except that it was taking about 5½ pumps to reach full height instead of the advertised 3½. I attributed this to air in the system and so did the oil top off, it was a little low, and the air bleeding, there were some bubbles. After that the jack worked fine, as advertised, and I then lubricated the joints and pivot points with white lithium grease as per the instructions. I'm going to take the jack back to HF for an exchange, as I really like the jack and am hoping this one was just a fluke. I know that this jack is made in China🫤

I stopped by Harbor Freight, saw the Daytona. I asked if they sell a rebuild kit for the Daytona pistons. Just like the Pittsburg they do not sell rebuild kits. Eventually the pistons will go out and you will have a jack that is useless and worthless. Higher end jacks do sell rebuild kits.

yeah wood i have found cracks and can be scary on heavier cars the pucks are perfect and safe and do not scratch or mar anything too.

Perfect timing Phil. I actually need a floor jack and this one looks like it will definitely fit the bill. I love the small size and lightweight and it looks like it's very well built for the money, even though I missed the coupon. I'm sure Harbor Freight will have another coupon soon so I might wait a few weeks and see. I rarely need a floor jack unless doing a wheel coating and need to remove the rims but like any quality tool, when you need it, you need it, and having the right tool at the right time is a godsend. yeah the 1.5 is weak and the rear casters weak, mine barely was able to lift my BMW M3 so i returned it.

Ended up just going with a steel Schwaben ultra low profile, long reach 2 ton. It's a beast, much cheaper than these janky things, and much higher quality. With jacks, nothing beats steel 🤷‍♂️

In my experience this jack sucks. I much prefer the green and black 1.5 ton version. Start with the front wheels, or lack there of. That one piece barrel wheel just limits mobility. Especially on non perfect shop floors (which are most). Second, it's too narrow and gets tipsy when you start to get up to service height. Third, due to the aforementioned unstableness, you get a lot of flex, which means all of the hardware eventually loosens up, and you have to retighten these more than usual. Finally, it loses a lot of its strength with moderate use. I had to bleed mine 2 months in, and my other one (I bought three for my shop), one of the pistons stayed stuck in the compressed position. The more use it sees, the more frequent bleeding you need to do to keep it operating correctly. Where is this air being introduced? Pro tip: if the jack makes a squeal or chirp sound every time you pump under load, the sealing lip of the oiston seal is dry, and needs to be lubed. If you don't do this, eventually the seal will tear, and you will develop a leak.

yeah I tried it on my new BMW and it it started twisting as the car went up I stopped and immediately returned it.This jack looks nice but is not strong enough and the rear swivel casters were collapsing the more I pumped it up. So disappointed so I just bought another AC Hydraulic jack and love it along with my other AC Jacks. well worth the money

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and expertise on this jack and lifting in general. I'm older and just started wrenching due to bad, expensive repair work I keep encountering. (Missing or stripped bolts, not following torque specs, cheap parts etc) KZbin and guys like you that take the time to help others out has given me much appreciation for the shared knowledge. It's kept me safe and has made learning this trade amazing and fun.
