I finished converting my dcf850 to a 3/8 wrench last night. I used it as a wrench today to change my differential fluid on my Ranger. That thing has so much power and could get in between my stored spare tire so I didn't have to take it off first. It was freaking awesome. I used an anvil with smaller dogs(is that what they are called?) than the driver anvil so I need to find a bigger one but I'm pretty happy regardless.

I got a deal on a DCF850 bare tool at HD for $89, couldn't turn it down. I used it on the jobsite for a little over 2mos, and it was fine, but one morning when it was like -20°, it just started flaking on me, and I wasn't even pushing it hard. 1/4" lags. My M18 Fuel finished the job, without breaking a sweat,, and I returned the bumble bee. I take all my batteries inside every night during winter, so it wasn't a cold battery that caused the fail. The Atomic is great for general use, but I'm in the industry, and I prefer to have something in my hands that I know isn't going to crap out on me. So I'm Team Red.

That's a nice impact driver! But I'm still happy with my good ole DeWalt DCF888 and DCF887 and my Old school DCF885. I probably don't need the new dcf850. Despite of the new dcf850 being much more smaller and compact. The 888 and 887 and 885 are still compact and small and lightweight for me and I've been running my 888, 887 impact driver and 996 Hammer Drill on 8.0Ah battery the same battery that came with the XR Power Detect circular saw that I bought 2 yrs ago. And I bought a new DeWalt 20V 10.0Ah battery I got 4 of them, I'm starting to sell my old 6.0Ah because I have 6 pcs of 8.0Ah battery and 4 pcs of 10.0Ah battery. These are the batteries I use to run my circular saw DCS574W1, 888, 887 and 996 For my Brushed DCF 885 I'm running it on the new Power stack battery 1.7Ah I got 6 of them in a bundle package that's where I'm getting rid and selling my old 1.5Ah and 2.0Ah. I don't have much Flexvolt battery I only have just 1 that's 20/60V Flexvolt 15Ah Battery the highest Amp Hour Battery that I can get that I use for my Cordless 18" Chainsaw and for my Cordless Pancake type Air compressor to power up my Pneumatic Air Framing Nailer and 15Gauge Finish nailer and 18gauge Brad Nailer.

If measurements serve correctly(3.97 inches), it should be just as small as the Ryobi Bid-11XR in japan. 9.9cm vs 10.08cm on the dewalt. A 10cm tool for the west finally :) Now you just need stubby drillbits and collet-compatible 1-inch driver bits and you've got the perfect cabinet gun

@twinbee4243
@twinbee4243 2 жыл бұрын
No not really. DCF850 is a Downsized DCF887 same motor, same specs, same RPM, IPM and same torque. DCF888 is the Flagship of DeWalt 20V brushless impact driver. It's what I use in my daily jobsite for years since it was first released. Then follow up I purchased dcf887. Back in the day I was only using DCF885 and DCF895 Brushless. Then when the DCF888 and 887 was First released I was Amazed by it. And I've been using them ever since, used and abused everyday. One thing that I don't do on all of my impact drivers is to throw a paddle bit and do some drilling that is so stupid and dumb that will caused your tool to smoke and fry no matter what brand they are. I can use my impact drivers but only just to drill a pilot hole twist drill bits no bigger than 5/16th. That's all I use to drill pilot hole for lag bolts only where I get lazy to grab my dcf894 mid-range impact wrench. I can use my impact driver to drive lag bolts but with pilot hole.

@seano932

Torque Test Channel has done them both. The 12 volt 1/2 impact wrench is 60+ ft lbs. more powerful. Unless you meant the little 12 volt impact driver, the DCF 801. It's a great tool, but not nearly as powerful as the 887, 840, or 850. It's wroughly comparable to the old Atomic 809.

I'm not gonna buy it❗ my old DCF887 that I bought in year 2015 and my 4 yr old DCF888 are still going strong even my very first dcf885 I bought it on year 2012 9 years now and replaced carbon Brushes 3 times and been abused in the jobsite they're still going strong. But for this new Dewalt atomic dcf850 it's too Expensive! However! I'd rather wait for the official release of the New DeWalt 20V PowerStack Lithium Ion Pouch Cell Battery. I will replace my old 1.5's and 2.0ah batteries with the new DeWalt 20V PowerStack battery. I hope DeWalt can make a Flexvolt Battery in a Compact form using those cell ouch lithium battery technology.
