I've always had this fear of becoming a hoarder since my grandmother was a really extreme one & it carried over to my Dad. Every six months since I was a teenager I started getting rid of any clothes in my closet that I haven't worn at least once according to that season. I would go through all my drawers & my desk to dump out, donate or reorganize my things. It makes me feel so refreshed & it stops the out of sight, out of mind habit. Sleeping in a fresh clean space just hits different. 😊😌🫶

I've been struggling with my garage ever since my husband passed away in 2015. I am slowly getting it done but it's taking some time. He was a mechanic and going through his things brings back loads of good memories. Thank you for the motivation ❤😊

Yes! We accumulated things over the years with our family. Time to let things go and just purge for more peace and sanity in our lives. It’s a great idea to declutter sections/zones of the house to not feel overwhelmed.

The owls help keep the pigeons away. Another great video. When you have cabinets, it's easy to just put stuff in them with the intention that you'll go back thru them but then stuff just gets "lost" in them (at least that has happened to me...lol).

I love watching all your videos. Gives me the motivation and push on decluttering my house. We also live in Arizona and use those owls to help keep un-wanted birds away. Also, I have been searching high and low for a dresser like the one you have in your garage. I have a similar one I use for myself but I've been looking for one for my husband. I love these older dressers so if you ever decide to sell it I would love to buy it. I like the old look of them. Y'all are such great motivation. God bless you and your beautiful family!

way to go the garage is fantastic. I love all the cupboards for storage all the way around. We have a single car garage but are blessed with 3 cars. we store an old convertible in it and use it in the summer months! it is so much fun to own. I taught my son n law how to drive standard and he and my daughter love to borrow it for a weekend or night out. We live 40 minutes from them. We would share it more often if they lived around the corner . They have two little girls who can't ride iin it yet for safety reasons and the law. So our storage at the end of the garage would benefit from shallow depth cupboards with the shelves being closer together. I would love one of those tool organizers that are usually red. My husband isn't into tools too much but the ones we have gathered over our 45 years of marriage could really benefit from that kind of organization. we store our off season clothes in our basement and we do have a shed. We have to squeeze the snow blower in the winter at the front of the garage door as we get snow here in Ontario in the winter months. continue to declutter I think dawn Madison, donna k white and clutter bug are so great. you are doing a fantastic job in your house any you are motivating me. thanks so much. xo lori

This was an absolute labor of love to go from clutter to organized and functional. It must have felt amazing to accomplish the final results decluttering your garage and cabinets. We don't realize how much clutter we have, and we promise ourselves it will never happen again 😅 The time it took was well worth it. Also good luck to the boys on the garage sale. I hope they are able to work for some good $ and take that experience as a positive lesson: their hard work paid off. Kyke and Amanda, great job. Love the idea of adding an exp date to hold you accountable on a flip project. Don't let it exp. It's a great piece. I am re-watching this as part of the decluttering playlist and I just realized that I have a workshop (12 by 14 shed) that looks like this garage. We moved into this house just over a year ago and the previous owner left a lot of tools, wood and additional odds & ends that never got decluttered or even organized. It is my hubby's domain, so I am leaving it to him, but I hate looking at it when I am out there with him ;-)

I literally had to empty all of my kitchen cabinets uppers and lowers for an emergency and decided to declutter before I put anything back. Got rid of an entire set of dishes, to frying pans, I flip type skillet, a sugar shaker, like 7 novelty cups and tossed a burger press that had no cord with it. So we have a stick pile of previous decluttered items as well as all our baby clothes set aside for a garage sale in the spring

Also a tip if you have a issue with bugs any kind of bugs. If you will mop out your garage with hot water and vinegar, it will definitely keep them away.

You did an awesome job! I’m in love and covet those cabinets you have along the walls. My husband passed away last year, so I’ve been trying to declutter and organize. I did out garage this past summer by myself. Filled a 5 cubic foot dumpster with trash, pulled everything out and power washed the inside, and then organized. After putting almost everything away I realized I need a shed for all the garden stuff. That’s what is taking up all the space. Next spring. You two working together was a wonderful thing to see. Just did our garage I mean my mom cleans the garage twice a week that’s a normal thing we have a table chairs we sit in the garage a lot but I mean we never pulled the cabinets and oh my God I had my computer from high school and that was 18 years ago my gosh boxes and boxes of papers and high school memories. I just have one mantra when it comes to decluttering and organising…..a space for everything….. and space around that place. There is nothing more frustrating than looking for something that’s hidden behind other stuff. I need to be able to open a door and see what I’m looking for. Have you ever considered making an inventory of items you have stored in the kitchen and garage that you can refer to when you think you need to go out and buy something you don't remember that you already have? You could indicate where seldom-used items are being stored.

When I was a kid, we attended an outdoor church camp and I remember an owl being up above. I was always looking at it instead of listening to the lesson, wondering why it was there.😁 Seems I asked and was told it was keeping birds from making nests? Love the garage transformation. We would break our necks if we went into our garage 🤭
