honestly, I do not see the benefit to the hex shape. is the diameter of the hex measured point to point or flat side to flat side?

It’s very good for close edges. Keep in mind having a good variety of tabs helps when your favorite ones don’t work when you want.

i have tried all kinds of the small diameter ones and i never get a good pull these small ones seems to hold and not fall off and pull better

Technically you can. However the set times will be much longer and won’t come off the panel as clean in most cases.
