By far the best tutorial yet. To make it even easier, I fold the two mask pieces in quarters, fold the pattern in quarters and use a rotary cutter to quickly cut them out (just place a ruler over each of the three cutting sides). I also made a template of the markings so that I can just place the template over each end and quickly mark the center and the other two marks. It fits both my husband and myself and finally we can breathe!!
@ladylantana88414 жыл бұрын
This my favorite mask. Lots of space to talk and not get fabric in your mouth with full coverage from top of nose to below chin. Changes I've made: add a nose piece to stop glasses fogging. The pleats on the sides I have made full pleats instead of the half shown here. (match the markings to each other). Great tutorial. Thanks
@irairod51603 жыл бұрын
I match the markings to each other, too, and I find that the deeper pleat produces more room towards the front/middle of the mask while providing better contour above the nose and below the chin. Also, I do the pleats on each individual piece and *then* stitch the layers together. I don't know if that makes much of a difference, I just prefer it that way.

Thank you for sharing this breathable mask. I had to rewind several times to get the correct measurements. I made it but it’s really big from the mouth in front. But I know what the purpose is for, to have room to breathe. I made some adjustments and it’s not protruding as much, and you can still breathe. 😊

This is mask is wonderful, very comfortable, breathfyl and elegant, and it's even more beautiful, if you use different print in the middle, such as flower, polka dota, stripe, etc. Somebody is questionning there is no filter feature, well just set up opening in the middle of the mask inside of the lining, and put your filter, but it will alter the shape, the puff up of the mask, it's better use a very thick fabric instead.

I would extend the side an inch then just fold in for straps instead of adding separate piecePut another layer in like interfacing for the filter or leave inner liner open for a filter.
@janetbyers13293 жыл бұрын
I thought of that, cutting the lining longer and top stitching, but there would be a pleat in the 'binding' maybe not so neat. I will try just one.

Your pattern and instructions are very good, the mask fits perfectly (first one I‘ve had that does). schöne Idee.

Bonne couture!

Great pattern. Have just made one BUT so much thread waste. I made it with a layer of batting when first sewing the 2 sides (2 fabrics right sides facing with a layer of batting on top) Its thick to handle but quite pliable, and 2) added a wire, after inverting the fabrics right way out, before closing the sides.(place wire lengths onto strong tape, fold the tape to enclose the wire. Sew the taped wire into inside top of the mask with a line of stitching like a wide "u" ). TFS
