When I *saw* Encanto, I remember immediately thinking that it had been designed with a trackless dark ride similar to Mystic Manor in mind. But an Omnimover could be fine too. A boat seems odd, though if the environment is mostly Antonio's room, maybe less so.

I really hope they add some animal exhibits in the tropical americas land. You look at the other lands like Asia and Africa and they have animal exhibits as you walk through the park. It just makes the animal kingdom that much different that you feel like you're at both a zoo and a theme park. Some animals that would make the most sense to have an exhibit in tropical americas would be flamingos, possibly a jaguar exhibit (probably too difficult to implement), sloths, capybaras, or maybe even a reptile house with all the reptiles and amphibians of the amazon.

It being a Mayan temple and it featuring dragons in the architecture, solidifies to me that Indy is going to probably have a run in with Kukulkan, the Plumed Serpent (Mayan dragon deity). Crossing my fingers for a huge Kukulkan animatronic.

I personally think that for the Indiana Jones ride, the creature will be based on the Mayan snake god Kukulkan. Ke Huy Quan said in the presentation, "will there be snakes," which could've just been a reference to the movies, but could also have had a double meaning.

As a professional in the construction industry, the 2027 timeline for this project is crazy slow. From the details in the model, they probably already have the drawings for the new ride and buildings near 100% complete, those types of drawings would normally take maybe a year to develop, and then mixing in demolition and construction of a simple shell building for the ride and new frontages for the other buildings, I would guess that it might take 16 - 18 months to construct. If they are closing in a month or two to begin the very minimal demolition and land clearing tasks, that should put the encanto and other buildings at completion in the early part of 2026. Indy is already an existing building, an existing ride, and they are literally just retheming what is already there. Maybe 6 months of work? So the timeline of 2027 (which they made sound ambitious in the announcement) seems like a big buffer of at least a year of unnecessary time in my opinion. Of course, there may be other factors I don't know about or some other reason that it may take longer, but if a simple conversion of a land like this is extending out to 3 years, we are probably looking at Villains land no earlier than 2032 and Cars no earlier than 2029. I don't know why Disney has been so extremely slow for such simple projects in the past few years, but the near future of WDW is sounding like a worse epcot crater for much longer.

Mufasa: The Lion King which is releasing December 20th, it's both a backstory sequel like Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas and an extended inclusion of The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. It also honors the 30th anniversary of The Lion King and could be a dedication to James Earl Jones; he reprised his role as Mufasa in the 2019 photorealistic remake of the 1994 animated film, which was also one of the Disney Renaissance films and the last one to feature computer animation within traditional animation, according to the wildebeest stampede.

The capacity for Primeval Whirl was 900 riders per hour PER COASTER. So the total, if both were running, was closer to 1800 riders per hour. So the capacity increase will be slightly better than Primeval Whirl, but it's far from what the park needs, or what was promised by Bob Iger.

Yes, I was hopeful they were going to incorporate native animals in that way too. The two “real” lands, Africa and Asia, have animals, as does discovery island and the park entrance (Pandora can’t, being fictional). The model makes it seem like that won’t be the case. I suppose it’s not surprising, as animals increase cost in many ways. (Can you imagine Disney even building Animal Kingdom today?) The imagineers went through the effort to tie the story of tropical americas into the theme of the park but didn’t (or weren’t allowed to) include the actual animals? I hope they at least scatter a few animal exhibits around the land, like the crocodile currently in dinoland.

I VERY much hope there will be appropriate animal havens and perhaps even a short animal trail like Gorilla Falls in Africa and Maharajah Jungle in Asia. Removing a wild mouse coaster that could only do 900 guests/hour (when operating at max capacity) typically it would operate at a lower capacity if one side of the track was closed. And replacing it with a family attraction that can do 1800 guests/hour all day, and doesn’t close for bad weather. That will be an expansion in capacity.

Colombia in the house! 🇨🇴 I still think it's insane Disney made a film based on this amazing Country and how beautiful and accurate it was from the food to the music to the mannerisms to the accents. So to think it's going to get a ride now is almost unbelievable. Colombia is one of the megadiverse Countries in the world, hosting close to 10% of the planet's biodiversity which includes plant species and animals alike, so they can do plenty with just this idea. Including a trek. I'm also happy for Honduras and it's culture for at least possibly being the backdrop to the Indiana Jones ride. 🇭🇳 Glad other Latin American Countries that aren't Mexico or PR are finally receiving their flowers. It's been a long time coming.

I think they should integrate the the 2.5D from MMRR into Indy, obviously not have it be all of that, but compliment the set pieces more by using that tech over the top of moving pieces. Glad to see another video Jack, to be honest, I didn't have much if an opinion to begin with about this land, however, since seeing the new art work at D23 and hearing the back story, I cannot wait, it looks stunning. It's great to see the imagineers doing what they do best...storytelling, I think both IP's fit perfectly visually into this land and cannot wait to see our own Indiana Jones story, I really hope Encanto is a track less ride with new tech it would blend in so well with the story, The Pueblo Esperanza fits in so well with the rest of Animal Kingdom, it would be really interesting to know what elements of the D23 projects Joe Rhode has has input with too? They can open the land without opening all the rides. The Indy ride is basically a re-theme so they don't have to construct a show building so that should open the quickest, although it depends on when they close Dinosaur. And the carousel won't take long to construct, especially if they've already been building it in their shops. I think the Encanto attraction could be the last to open. We saw the same thing with Galaxy's Edge.

Tropical Americas is a great idea and maybe this is an unpopular opinion but I don't think it needs a story line as much as it needs a theme. For example, as long the theming is consistently 'Tropical Americas' it works. And I don't understand how anyone is upset over it considering that it feels very natural as there already is Asia and Africa in the park, this feels like a natural theme progression that could've been an opening day land. I only hope they add in capybaras.

The parks NEED an area that is strictly kid friendly. MK has at least the Dumbo play area, Epcot used to have a playground - still irritated they got rid of Honey I Shrunk the kids playground from MGM/HWS. The Boneyard and Tom Sawyer's were those places. My mother could just sit with my son while my wife and I went and rode a few of the big kid rides so sad to see them being taken away.

I’m super excited and looking forward to Tropical Americas. The DinoLand area has been in need of a reimagining since the park opened. In my opinion, that never really fit with Animal Kingdom as a whole. Felt like, we have very little money left, let’s throw a little rinky dink carnival area over here. I think this will provide Disney and opportunity for future expansion to this park that they where limited to with the Dino theme. Outside of The Good Dinosaur, and Dinosaur (love the ride and movie sad to see it go) Disney really had no IP’s that featured Dinosaurs specific stories. With this current Latin American theme. Now with Indiana Jones and Encanto. Future expansions could feature IP’s such as CoCo, Emperors New Groove, Three Caballeros, Ferdinand, Elena of Avalor, and Saludos Amigos.

I’m super excited for this whole renovation especially the encanto atracción I cannot wait! I hope is unique and as great or even better than mickeys runaway railroad ride at Hollywood studios. That ride surprised me quite a bit. I love the tornado scene with the wind blowing everywhere the scenes are amazing it’s just a very cute and fun ride. It’s one of my favorite rides today at any park it’s fun for the whole family and I hope encanto can be a huge hit as well with new innovations put together for the ride.

Many great Dinosaur discoverys have been in South America, so I think its a shame the Bone Yard isn't being worked into the land. If Indiana Jones does include Dragons but we loose all traces of Dinosaurs it hasnt fixed the park logo issue, just switched one missing animal for another.

After Lady and Drizella Tremaine were sentenced to spend an eternity as scullery maids after Anastasia turned herself back to normal and Cinderella and Prince Charming lived happily ever after...again, Drizella must've given birth to Dizzy; that villain kid's name is the sequence of having your eyes rolled with unbalanced concentration when you spin too fast, get rocked by a boat as it moves, drunk to picture fantasy illustrations for a while or hypnotized.

BC they saw Tron take so long, not many knew about the deal where they had to wait 5 years after a certain point to put it in Orlando. Then Covid happened. I think Indiana Jones is going to be the Mayan snake god is Kukulkan, which translates to "Plumed Serpent" or "Amazing Serpent". Kukulkan is a creator god and the god of life, rain, storms, and wind. He does hate snakes.

Losing the Boneyard and Tom Sawyer's Island is still rough to me and I think it really will change how some families spend their days at the parks.

@@shawnokeefe1580 first off it is you’re, second off I’m allowed to have an opinion. I personally like to find places where I can get away from the crowds with the people I go to the parks with. Tom Sawyer’s island was a big piece of my childhood where my family and I would often take food there and have a little picnic away from the crowds. It’s nice to have areas that aren’t packed but over the past decade we’ve lost just about all of them at 3 of the 4 parks

I agree with you 100%, the boneyard was one of the only places in all of the parks we could let our children run free, without the crowds and constant monitoring. It is a quiet, shaded area to rest for an hour.

I am ECSTATIC that Encanto is coming to Orlando. Still praying it’s trackless 🙏🏽 On the other hand, I also truly wish they’d keep a children’s play area. As a special needs mom, it’s really hard to keep putting my kids in line for attractions. I’d love to use the DAS pass, but now with the new limits, we can’t fit our family on one pass, so someone would always have to sit out. It’s really unfortunate, and it’s making it impossible to plan a comfortable family vacation especially with the ever increasing prices. We used to go every year, and now it’s been 5 years. Really sad how things have turned out.

also i think it will be cool if the encanto ride is a trackless ride that has drops (where the vehicle acts like an office chair on a flat incline and therefore slides down the hill)
