maybe they don’t want it to be a _Westernized_ Boruto for focusing the offsprings cause they are probably afraid it’ll flop hard as their like: _oh no Boruto is bad to have a continuation, lets not go there and lets just make Regular Show as a in between series before the events of the ending after the finale instead_ where it probably will be Dragonball Daima (even if chronologically before Super) & Dragonball Super treatment that all takes place before the final episode ending of timeskip maybe that could give development for Mordecai’s relationship with the bat lady as a in between on the Lost Tapes series

Frankly, considering the nature of this show, I don't mind a continuation of Regular Show in this form either, especially if it's going to be at the same level of quality as the original run, which, considering that JG Quintel is returning from what I recall, it most likely will be, so in terms of quality, I'm not worried at all. Would have I preferred something different, like that 25yrs Later comic series? Perhaps. Maybe we'll even get that eventually, but with RS I honestly don't mind the "more of the same" approach, and, as I mentioned in my impenetrable wall of text for the Bakugan Gen 3 cancellation, I don't really trust CN to do these types of show anymore. They seem to think everyone following what's up at CN these days is 5yrs old and has no attention span, hence short and dumb productions that require little to no effort. So, if we want a 25yrs Later kind of deal, CN is probably not the right choice for it anyway. We're likely much better off with a platform like Amazon or even Netflix for that to happen, that way we could get an even more mature version of RS. Another argument for this would actually be the upcoming Foster's Home reboot. That's another childhood favorite of mine, similar to Bakugan and Regular Show (and MANY others), and I was stoked to hear it was finally making a very surprising comeback - until I learned that it targets a pre-school audience, after how "mean-spirited" the original show got as time went on, killing all my excitement in the process. I would advise against hoping for those types of sequels on CN...
