Great video and quite a coincidence that i watched your video today. But for the last few months, i was unable to decide between DCD701, DCD706, DCD800 and DCD805. I wanted the DCD701 due the size and me being a DIYer, but at the same time I did not want to invest in DCD706 just for the hammer. Eventually this week i went with DCD701 as a drill and DCD805 as a hammer drill after trying all 4 out. DCD701 is perfect for 80% of the work that I do and DCD805 being used for 20v power and hammer. Satisfied.

My 791 from 2017 is still going strong, it's been an absolute beast, removed a full wrap on a boat with a rubber eraser wheel, sanded cars, buffed cars, ... I thought the new one is the DCF800 (*going from the 791 drill) , I've also used drill bits and gotten through 3/8 steel seat brackets, etc. Now I have all the impacts, but this 791 spinner has been unstoppable

805 is a beast for its size! Over 1100Watts?! Wow. That's 998/999 Territory. Those 12V Dewalts are impressive as well with the 5AH. That 5ah battery really wakes those tools up. Only thing then, is at that size w/ 5ah, it's no smaller than a 20v tool with a Power Stack. I'd really love to see them introduce the pouch cell tech into the 12V line.
@Tools-Tested
@Tools-Tested Жыл бұрын
Yeah that 5sh PS wakes the 805 up, it really needs a handle with that much power. I was having a hard time holding it under a controlled load. I could only image if the bit locked up while drilling, by by wrist! Yep I was thinking the Atomic would be perfect with a 1.7, but I cant seem to keep any of them together.... 12v PowerStack would be awesome, it would be interesting to see the performance. Im guessing it would have to be a different pouch though. None the less they need to make one!
@J.Wick.
@J.Wick. Жыл бұрын
@@Tools-Tested Yeah, I agree on the 801/805 needing a handle. They're definitely capable of snapping a wrist in quick order. Great testing as always. Makes the info so easily digestable. That 805 is marked as 850UWO I believe. Maybe that's true for a sustained load. But still, nice to see something under rated. As for ATOMIC, other than the 850, I've not been impressed with any of them, I much prefer the 12V stuff for less money in that arena.

@@Tools-Tested Would you mind including the DCF601 as well sometime? It's the screwdriver. I LOVE that little tool. It's so versatile. More powerful than I thought, and can be clutched down to be sensitive as well. Perfect around the house tool IMO. Thanks!
@Tools-Tested

Yeah I have been reading conflicting numbers on the DCD805 for UWO. My box is says 900 when you use a 5AH XR battery, which from my testing with the 5ah, my data showed 926. I will add the DCF601 to my list, might be a while probably will have to retool the dyno for lower force.

Excellent set of tests. The 805 is certainly held back by the smaller battery packs. Wonder if they have cheaped out on the gearbox / clutch on the atomic range, given the performance of the 805, they can make a gearbox that can handle that amount of torque and power.
@Tools-Tested
@Tools-Tested Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah the data defiantly shows what battery's to use in the 805. My goal was to test drills with a consistent load (dyno) and all of the battery's currently available. I have watch comparison videos and am left wondering how that tool would perform with a different battery. Its very weird, I should try and mount the gearbox of the 805 on the 709.

What called my attention is the 799 with the hammer function claims about 150 more UWO than the 794. It sounds odd since the previous Atomic line was the same UWO for the 708 & 709. Hopefully we can see that new Atomic 799 hammerdrill soon, which on paper would be about the same power as the XR 796
@Tools-Tested
@Tools-Tested Жыл бұрын
Interesting I will have to look into that, I assumed the UWO would be the same between non hammer and hammer like previous Atomic. I did notice the 805 has different UWO rating under the same model number if it's in a kit or by its self.

Great testing as usual. That's disappointing about the atomic drills. I was excited for the 794 as a possible replacement for my 701, but I'll be skipping it and sticking with my combo of the 701 and 800. I know I mentioned it, but I love the 800. It's the same as the 805, just no hammer function. It's about as short front to back as the 794; that's one of the things I like the most about it. Unless we hear news of a mid tier powerstack (3.4 maybe) pretty soon, I'll probably grab a 5.0 to pair with the 800. Thanks again for all these tests. 👍
