My opinion on Palkia is that it's honestly a pretty good card! Imo, the best comparison is the Pikachu ex Raichu deck. That deck often runs Zapdos, who is 130 hp and Pecks for 20 in the early game a few times before you switch it out. It also uses Genetic Apex Raichu, who can spend 3 energy from itself to deal 140 damage, as the big finisher of the deck. Palkia kind of does both of those on 1 card. It can Slash repeatedly or, with the help of Vaporeon, you can use it as the all-in finisher that Genetic Apex Raichu is for electric. I just see it as a fusion dance between two really good Electric cards, which makes it good in my eyes.
@PocketMads9 күн бұрын
yes!!! Completely agree - its strong and FLEXIBLE!!! It should be able to provide value in any matchup (:
@filipegomes88889 күн бұрын
The first deck doesn't really make sense Palkia will be a great card not for the 150 damage dimensional storm, but for the 1 energy 30 dmg attack on a 150 basic. You should want to lead with Palkia, putting pressure early on while setting up something like a starmie, not forgetting 30+30+90 is a KO on mewtwo for example I know this is what you get into the second deck, but I think you should take 1 eevee since the vaporeon is just a late game tool so you can use dimensional Storm as a game finisher Great video
@PocketMads9 күн бұрын
@@filipegomes8888 I think dimensional storm will be the most important aspect of palkia imo (: it’s probably the strongest attack in the game currently.
@UphillBridge9 күн бұрын
I honestly think Palkia’s attacks are both equally important, one for early game chip damage and one for a late game finisher.

Palkia is solid but I need to see these new Pokémon tools, items, and supporters. I have a feeling those will make of break palkia’s viability, it’ll be really interesting if Empoleon ex (or base if starters didn’t get exs this time) ends up being like a gardevoir or a serperior

My biggest gripe with Diagla and Palkia is the 150hp. For legendaries like these, you expect them to be a bit more beefy, but Its quite obvious the Devs love Mewtwo.
@PocketMads9 күн бұрын
I think for basic Pokémon you won’t see much higher then 150 unless it’s snorlax or something lol. But yea mewtwo really should have less than Dialga and Palkia imo :D

I’m really curious to see what non-gen4 Pokémon they add. Something like steelix could be crazy. Imagine if you drop onix on the bench and use Brock while dialga pumps you with 2 steel energy so you’re at 2 steel 1 fighting. Then you evolve into steelix, manually attach putting steelix at 4 energy and retreat dialga to hit for possibly massive damage
@agarcia67708 күн бұрын
Everyone seems to be forgetting that we might get all the gym leaders as trainer cards. Sinnoh has steel and water gym leaders that could help dialga and palkia

I hope we see a metal-type Magnezone, ex or not. Imagine: a mono metal energy deck. on your second turn, you evolve benched Magnemite to Magneton. Magneton's ability gets it a lighting energy, then Dialga's attack attaches 2 metal energy on Megneton, who now has 3 energy. Then on your third turn, using Magneton's ability again for energy #4, then evolving to Magnezone ex, Leaf'ing Dialga out, then maybe attaching energy for turn and swinging with a 5 energy attack that requires lightning and metal energy. 😅 and even if you went first, and can only pull this off on your 4th turn, 150 HP is a lot for Dialga to tank. I don't know, its an idea, lol.

Palkia losing 3 energy is rough for just a one time attack. Atleast gyrados slightly gives an advantage by taking away energy from an opponent.
@PocketMads9 күн бұрын
but can it KO two pokemon in 1 attack 0_0
@CoverWunTB9 күн бұрын
@@PocketMads palkia cant either. 20 dmg to each benched Pokémon is the same as raichu. 60dmg and 20 dmg to all bench. And raichu doesn’t lose any energy. Can use lt surge. And cost less energy. Idk I don’t see how palkia is going ti be viable. The losing of 3 energy is a massive hit to it imo. Maybe is it was 2 sure but 4 energy to build just to lose 3 energy after one attack and a measley 20 dmg to the bench. Most benches aren’t gonna be 20 hp waiting for this attack.
@PocketMads9 күн бұрын
@ the 20 benched damage isn't anything new - its the 150 damage attack that can KO almost any active Pokémon. Since sabrina exists - all we have to do is get one of our opponent pokemon low HP - play sabrina and KO whatever is in the active position with Palkia WHILE also KOing the low HP bench pokemon (: Raichu and Articuno only do 60 or 80 damage to the active - that is MUCH different than 150!!!
@CoverWunTB9 күн бұрын
@@PocketMads I see. But I’d have to see it and how useful it will be. It’s a tank at best imo. Not worth the 4 energy buildup unless you can misty which gyrados is still the best for building up. More upside. Plus a gyrados Giovani combo would kill palkia where palkia would need 2 turns to kill gyrados. And lose its energy. Anyway I’ll wait to see how you use it. All the cards haven’t been shown yet. I was just expecting a legendary card like palkia would have been a big more effective.

Kang is a bad card, that’s why it doesn’t have any placements or usage. The fact that it requires multiple sources to retreat (support card + energy/xpeed) is a detriment plus it’s inconsistent. Farfetched or drud will always be a better option, that’s why these cards are churning out results

Just because something doesn’t see play right now doesn’t it it won’t be good later down the line (:

@ to have merit an opinion must be substantiated, viability is a function of usage so without that it’s a feels based view. Just like the physical tcg and every other competitive game this game will experience power creep. The idea that a card that’s unviable currently will somehow work in a crept meta is counter intuitive.
