As a cruise fan, I came across your channel. Let me start by saying that you do a wonderful job with your filming and title work. Great close ups! I would like for interaction with us and descriptions of the food while eating. You have the vibe of the Bill and Lisa's Food and Travel. If Mom would like to join in, she would be a welcome addition. People like an older perspective - years of wisdom is great to see.

Thanks so much! When mom joins us, she tends to hang out in the background… not a camera person really… but it sure is nice to sail with family when we can!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing your experience with these dining venues. On our last cruise, on the Discovery, I didn't make a dinner reservation at the steak house and so on the day we wanted to try it, I walked up to the receptionist at 4 pm and asked if they had any openings for dinner. She asked what time I was looking for and I said around 5:30. No problem. How is 6 pm? So, I think they take walk in reservations too. So, I believe that could be an option as well. Looking forward to your next video!
@Taste-Try-Travel Жыл бұрын
Thanks!!! 😊 Absolutely! As long as they have room, they will take walk-ups. On this cruise, they only had a couple servers for these casual dining restaurants and actually turned away quite a few parties while we were there… that’s why we always suggest reservations if you really want to experience these!

Just found your channel, LOVING all the information you two provide! I'm going on a 12-day transit on Caribbean Princess in May, and your videos are SO HELPFUL as I do my planning. Thank you! - Jeremy

This was really fun! We didn't catch the name of the $17 red drink but it looked yummy. We are super excited to be on the Regal 1/14, and won an upgrade to a mini suite. Your luck is rubbing off on us! I'm not sure if they have pop ups on the ship, but it will be fun.
@Taste-Try-Travel Жыл бұрын
Mini suite upgrade! Yes! Princess says they are planning on rolling out the pop-ups across all the ships eventually. We didn’t catch the name of the $17 drink either… forgot to write it down… way too excited for ribs… 🤪

Was on regal beginning of December, and they only have Alfredo's casual dining option. Hope more ships get these soon.
@Taste-Try-Travel Жыл бұрын
Exactly… They say they will roll out different “casual” dining options for different ships. We’re sad because Alfredo’s was complimentary last time we sailed on Regal, but now they charge a fee… guess it’s the way of life in cruising now. 😩🤪😩

Great reviews of the dinners. What happened to Alfredo's? Is that a luncheon menu like on the Coral?

Well this was helpful! Thanks We’re going on Emerald in a couple of weeks. I was wondering about these. Wish you’d talked a bit about the dishes and compared them. Which was the best? Most creative? Etc. There was a part in reservations I couldn’t hear - was it just me?

Thanks! Yeah, part of the audio was cut out when uploading to KZbin… no idea why, it’s only happened one other time. 🤷

Great video, thank you! What time of the evening were you at these 3 restaurants? Seems like there were very few other patrons there. Did you ever see them get busy?
@Taste-Try-Travel7 ай бұрын
Thank you!!! 😊 We were there at opening. Don’t remember exactly what time that was… probably around 5:30… but they were sold out every night. So it got very busy at points in the evening. They had to turn away the walkups… so that’s why we suggest getting a reservation as soon as you know you want to go. There were empty tables (and some walk ups got mad that they couldn’t eat there when they saw the empty tables) but the tables were empty because they only had a couple servers working. 🤩

I didn't see in the video where you rated each one. If you could only do 2, which 2 would it be? (the gastropub didn't look that good). We'll be on Emerald in April
@Taste-Try-Travel11 ай бұрын
For our tastes, The Salty Dog gastropub was the best (again, it’s our tastes… spice, salt, texture, and how it looks is so important to us). Steamers was probably our second favorite… we are seafood people… but for folks that like BBQ more, Planks would be it. Hope that helps a little. Have a great holiday in April!!!

We’re going on the Emerald in May. Are any of the casual dining restaurants open for lunch? Or is it dinner only?
