I can't imagine the muddy/ bruise blush suiting many skin tones,even on a much darker skin tone I think it could look grim.I too adore Dior lippies.I particularly like their balms.

It almost has a bruise tone to it I don’t think it suits your skintone but the other blush is perfection you are beautiful and I think that first blush just isn’t a win and it happens ❤

The first pass of the mahogany looked lovely Charlotte... It wasn't until you "double dipped," that all bets were off. I'd say it's a keeper if you can restrain yourself. That shade is on my wish list, and thanks to you taking one for the team, I now know; fluffy brush and a delicate hand.. 😉

I would have to disagree. Yes, it got worse at the second pass, but the shade does not suit her, even on the first pass it was kind of grayish. That's fine, it might be great on other skintones. But no, this did not look good, in my opinion not even on the first pass.

I am much fairer than you but with a cool undertone, and I really like the Mahogany blush (albeit with a very light hand!) I couldn’t understand why people didn’t like it but now I see the cool, grey undertone and it all makes sense! xx

The grayish blush looks like a bruise. I think the second blush is lovely and I really like the highlight effect that's added.

This reminded me of a limited edition blush Dior came out with years ago, called Independence. I used it to cool down bronzers, and as contour. I think this might work as a pretty, nude blush on cooler, deeper skin tones. I think that for Charlotte's skin tone, like how I used that older release, this could work really well as contour, and to cool down bronzers :-)

The Dior en Rosé blusher and the Romance shade of their lippy are both very beautiful. The Mahogany blusher is, without any hesitation, absolutely awful. You look like you've caught the netball with your cheek 😅. After having watched Morgan (Turner) experience the "muddiness" of this blusher, I knew it was one to avoid. That Dior blush is muddy and grey toned- almost like you have a bruise😮 I got the backstage Dior blush in Rosewood and its hard to swatch on the hand - doesnt show up ( not very pigmented) but seems to work beautifully on the face. ❤also you got me into those Dior lipsticks and now I’m obsessed!

Ok, so a fragrance suggestion: I just discovered Maison Louise Marie (got a sample w my Sephora Canada order). The scent I got is Tuscan Fig Tonka. Now, I'm not sure if this is your type of scent profile, however- I can smell it on me ALL DAY! this is the first time I've experienced this. I suggest to check out their scents!

As far as I know, the backstage blushes do not work well on a tacky / unpowdered base. Many people say that if you powder the area, they will look fine, but I haven't tried them myself

I also purchased the Valentino Fairy Nights blush and I love it! I love a good pinkish berry moment. I think it works so well because it has some luminosity to it. It also makes a stunning eye shadow.

I found that the reformulated backstage blushers do not blend well at all. I have Rosewood and I found it went mega patchy. The backstage shade you've used looks very grey indeed on camera. Maybe it is better suited to either very light or deep skin tones?

First of all, I applaud you for given the Dior backstage blush a try - it is quite intimating! Because you asked, when you applied it on a bit heavy, it looked as if you had a horrific bruise on your cheek. When you buffed it in, it looked as if you had attempted to cover a bruise and now all we can see is an undertone of grey. Sorry!

I have the original rosy & coral glow formulas & they are among my absolute favorite blushes in the ocean of blushes I own. For the white people who hated this deep dior blush.. What were you expecting?? This is clearly meant for people with dark skin.. Dark pigmented blushes are hard to find so please white folks when a brand releases something that dark skin people can enjoy dont complain about it. . Most blushes in the market are made for you so when a shade is not working for you you can easily find something else.. That is not the case with POC.... And complaining about blushes being too dark and pigmented will make brands stop releasing them and then POC will not find products that work for them

That mahogany blush is the strangest thing ever. I've seen it tried out on a range of skin tones and it didn't look flattering on anyone. If Dior is thinking that it would suit darker skintones, then I don't know what they're smoking over there because it looks like a bruise on darker skin too. I have the Backstage Rose and Coral glow with the original formula and I'm good. I am, however, tempted to try the new blushes from the main line. Those look fantastic on practically all the reviewers who have tried them. [Edited] The mahogany blush may work well as an eyeshadow. 😅

The bruise blush might work as contour maybe? But honestly can't imagine it working on anyone, because it will show up as grey on deeper skin tones. Maybe someone who's both deeper and very cool toned? But yeah, that's a miss. The whole Dior reformulation situation is a miss for me personally. Fixing something that not only isn't broken but is very popular makes zero sense to me.

I think you did an epic job at managing to blend out what for a moment landed more like a bruise than anything else on your normally so peachy smooth cheek… Don’t think anyone could make a much better job with this slightly difficult colour… I believe it is just a little too griege/muddy leaning to be able to be functioning on anybody… really… Can’t really see what good it would do on a much darker skin either if I am honest… ? Maybe then as a contour shade for darker skin types. Or for someone into the whole goth scene perhaps? 🤔 But on most of us mere mortals it will be either a bruise or a mud-fest… Therefore a very good reality check for anyone thinking it might create something absolutely stunning on the face just because it’s such a weird colour… Money saved therefore hopefully for many! 👌❣️
