THINGS I FORGOT TO MENTION: Although it comes with their own backing plates i prefer the lake country rotary backing plates. The Yellow or Black ones. I swapped the DIY backing plate with the Lake Country One. Other Pros: 1. Comes with a 6 inch and 5 inch backing plate and accessories. Which most on the market have to order separately. 2. Extra brushes. 3. The Price Point is half the cost of a flex rotary polisher and almost half of the rupes. 4. You can use a discount code of your choice to get 10% off your total order.

What about the lake country backing plates do you like better than the ones the polisher comes with?
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 4 ай бұрын
@@ExodusFX I like how it’s not as stiff and flexible. So in terms of backing plate stiffness. Rupes is stiff then DIY is in the middle and the lake country is soft and flexible. I’ll make a short about comparing the two 💪💪.

Thanks for your reviews . The weight of the machines are 5.9 lbs for the 25mm DA and 5.4 lbs for the Rotary. Others have found that the machines “feel” hefty because of their solidity.

Was a pleasure using these machines! Definitely built very sturdy for sure. That's great to know on the weight of the machines.!! 💪💪

Thanks for the honest review! Sounds as if the only con is the weight. compare to others that have multiple cons but weight lol....

Glad you enjoyed the review my brother 💪💪. Yes as of now the main con is the weight everything else is super smooth, balanced and quite as well.

Awesome review man!! I think the lower and higher RPM is a great option for a rotary.. definitely on the list👍🏻

Thank you my brother glad you enjoyed the video. For sure. I agree with the low rpm and high rpm is great. I like to think this rotary like flex and Rupes made a rotary that’s quite smooth and higher rpm than the flex to dry out the pad.

I was waiting for this!! Great review!! I haven’t used mine yet-but outta the box it definitely feels heavier than both my cordless and corded shine-mate polisher..hope its performance makes the weight worth it!

Glad you enjoyed the review! 💪. Definitely like I said that’s the con is the weight. Overall though in terms of performance, balance and noise it is exceptional. As well as having extra accessories and it being half the cost of a flex and Rupes is great. Hopefully next rotary comes out they make it lighter. My wife says the same thing about the weight. For everyday use it’ll be tiring but as a DIYer it’s perfectly fine.

Just got my 1st rotary polisher today went with spta cause that’s what my 15mm DA is and I’ve had no issues….got the red DIY jeweling pad excited to try it out

Nice!!! You have the corded or cordless SPTA. I have a 15mm cordless SPTA and use makita batteries on them. But if you need to buy the batteries then your polisher goes from 200 to 400$ 😅. I wa sticky to have some makita batteries laying around. The rotary is fun to use!!! 💪💪

@@DetailingMadeSimple they are both corded…I just recently made the switch from weekend warrior to now doing detailing as a side business so I can’t justify buying expensive polishers yet….hoping I can get to the point where I can quit my full time job and do detailing full time because I’m at peace when I’m detailing I love it, right now I only have time to do a few cars per week so I got people wanting details and I’m having to make them wait a week or so for appointments but my wife is about to give birth to my daughter any day now and then I’ll be on paternity leave for 2 months so hoping the vehicles will keep coming when I’m home for 2 months, hoping to get more into coatings and corrections I do have a 1 car garage it’s tight with larger vehicles but cars and small suvs fit no problem…it’s been super windy outside everyday the past few weeks which has been a pain for washing cars outside I know you know what I’m talking about cause I’m only like 80 miles from NYC I live in CT so we get the same weather lol

Awesome review! I want to see what others say about it. The weight may be a concern for others. If used once I a blue not so much. Maybe as a everyday detailer may be an issue

Thank you bro!!!💪💪. Definitely more reviews I’m sure from others will be out soon. I had to wait for these and were lucky when I bought them on pre order. Exactly as you said. As a DIYer or weekend warrior amazing tool. As an everyday Detailer it’s great but maybe tiring for others.

It's 2024, ain't got no time for cords. 😂 they did say they were working on a battery version so that will be interesting. My Milwaukee rotary goes from 800 to 2200 but I wish it had a top speed for pad washing. It too is pretty quiet without that whine and if the DA wasn't so easy to use I'd probably use a rotary all the time.
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 4 ай бұрын
That’s facts!!!! 😅. My issue with batteries at the moment once it’s at 50% doesn’t have the same torque or power all the way through which annoys me. The cordless rotary I’ve used even the Milwaukee hasn’t been my personal favorite as you said doesn’t dry out the pad. Flex messed up with their cordless rotary making it 900-1600 🥹🥹. Like wtf!!! 😂😂 I thought it was going to be their corded flex specs just cordless. DA is great for one stepping getting max defect removal in one step. Only time I whip out the rotary is on new cars or 2 step.

Thanks for your thoughts about the DIY rotary. If it’s balanced well should hopefully make up for the weight. I’m about to find out this week for myself. I’m really interested in Phoenix EOD Kronos tho results are stunning. Have u used it in past? Any thoughts about durability? How does it compare to DIY for application? It’s also looks like u can just polish with their papa cut and fabulous without tapping off?
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 4 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the review. Yes with the amount of pros it definitely makes up for one con. Also Kronos this was my first time ever using it. In terms of application it’s okay it’s a bit tacky not slick. It gives Carpro uk3.0 vibes. Durability is suppose to be 7 years and super chemical resistant only time will tell. There is suppose to be a v2 of Kronos coming out in the next couple of months where it’ll be slicker and easier to use so I should wait for that. Yes put then again this paint doesn’t really have any plastic trim at all.

So, Are you making them look full yellow then? Like when people have their cars yellow including yellow calipers?😜😜

I tried to because I have both. 😂😅. I kinda prefer the black backing plate though maybe on my second batch of polishers that arrive I’ll put the yellow rotary backing plate on.

Can I use microfiber pads with rotary?
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 4 ай бұрын
No. Microfiber cutting/polishing pads were meant for the DA only. Use either wool or foam pads as they run cooler and don't generate a lot of heat like microfiber
@alvin3502
@alvin3502 4 ай бұрын
@@DetailingMadeSimple I saw a microfiber pad from carpro and it says it's suitable for rotary as well. And is flat foam pads suitable for rotary or it has to be ones from DIY detail
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 4 ай бұрын
@@alvin3502 personally I wouldn’t use microfiber on rotary as the initial design were for DAs. You can use foam or waffle whichever you desire. Just the waffle pads have better cooling. Also that’s what actual car manufacturers use to finish down are a rotary and waffle pad obviously not to our spec as detailers. But that’s what is used. 👍

@@DetailingMadeSimple even if we use it at speed 1 it will get too hot?
@DetailingMadeSimple
@DetailingMadeSimple 4 ай бұрын
@@alvin3502 yes microfiber gets hot in general you may leave microfiber tick marks. Give it a shot. I haven’t used it but saw a video years back about it and showed the results. I’m not opposed to trying a microfiber on a rotary if it’s made for it.
