Why ever would you think it wouldn't come out to be very good? I always expect the best from your builds, and this beauty did not disappoint! Excellent plane and excellent flying!
@AeroCraftAviation4 жыл бұрын
Aw I dunno, I guess I just wasn’t as inspired with this build, didn’t work with my usual level of meticulousness. So I figured it wouldn’t be anything to write home about. But maybe this oughta to teach me to take my work more seriously in the future and to document my builds more thoroughly.

@@AeroCraftAviation My experience with building balsa planes is that there are a lot of "unknown variables" within the wood, glues,, working conditions... that even with the most meticulous work, the results can be unpredictable. However, good work habits obviously give you a better chance of success of course. The fun is in the journey.

It's like a cross between a Whipit and a Thermal Scout. Nice.
@AeroCraftAviation4 жыл бұрын
Hmm yeah. Although the aspect ratio is significantly lower than the Whipit, especially considering this aircraft has a longer wingspan. But yeah I see that.
@suckmydickgoogle66923 жыл бұрын
Always turn into the lifting wing. You like to circle in lift to the right. That is natural. However, if the “turbulence” lifts that left wing, you need to circle left to center the thermal. Great video.

You have nailed it with this one. The taper up on the fuse pod looks really stylish as well. Just wondering about how you protect the balsa from moisture. Particularly so if you landed on wet grass on a cold morning. I have had this happen and the wood on the elevator swelled up and jammed the travel until it was dried out. BTW Your subs are coming up really well which shows your viewers are taking a real interest in your work. Great to see this happen for you. all the best Allen
@AeroCraftAviation4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah I guess it did come out pretty nicely. Protection from moisture is achieved through a coating of diluted white glue, covered with a thin coat of Krylon. I used to use no moisture protection, and often had the same problem with wood swelling and warping. Yeah I’ve been noticing my subs increasing lately. Not sure what I’m doing differently that has caused the increase, but I’m definitely pleased to see my work getting a larger audience.

Nice flying :) I like the video's you put on this channel, I subbed. This glider flies so well. I also liked your mini dlg's :) It would be nice if you could bump the audio volume a bit, compared to other youtube videos the volume is very low :)

Thanks! Glad you enjoy. Yeah the audio thing is...a recurrent issue on my channel.😅 The editing program I use doesn't allow volume to be increased more than the original recorded volume. Meh, I guess i'll see about finding a way around it. Thanks for subscribing. :)

Nice! It looks so efficient! Just wondering, do you still fly helicopters or did you set that aside?
@AeroCraftAviation4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Nah, I’ve kinda put helis to the side right now...although...I do have a kinda exciting souped up T-Rex 250 project that I’ve been trying to get finished and documented and flown; so we’ll see where that goes. Also of course I still have and often fly my little Blade MCPS...although it’s a wonder it still flies considering the glue and tape content. 😂😂

I've got 1 with paint maskers tape on the leading edge and now it's flies twice as far
@AeroCraftAviation3 жыл бұрын
It is possible that the rough surface of the tape causes turbulence and decentralizes the airflow's inertia. That decreases flow separation; same concept as those tooth-shaped "vortex generators" on STOL aircraft and sailplanes.

Do you have more than one mode set for launching and gliding?
@AeroCraftAviation4 жыл бұрын
Not yet. I usually fly the glider without launch preset for a bit before deciding if any is needed. Some of my gliders perform a nice launch curve right from the get-go and don’t need the preset, but if it’s needed with this one I’ll add it.
@mellofoxrc90044 жыл бұрын
@@AeroCraftAviation what about your other dlgs? Would mine do you think need it?
@AeroCraftAviation4 жыл бұрын
@@mellofoxrc9004 A couple other DLGs of mine have it, yeah. Yours might benefit from it, but I can’t be sure. Once you’ve flown it a lot, it’ll become clear whether it could benefit from a launch mode or not.
