NEW DOLLS = MORE STRESS! Doll Collecting 101: How To Process FOMO + Collecting On Your Own Terms!!

Hey there!
Today is going to be a more casual, chatty video where I discuss dealing with the stress of constant new releases PLUS relishing in deals I’ve gotten in the past and giving tips and tricks to collect on a budget!
Also side note, my allergies were kicking my butt in this one so if I sound stuffy, I’m sorry!
We just got word of some new Monster High Boo-riginal Creeproductions that will be dropping soon and this of course sent collectors into a frenzy! This is probably the tip of the iceberg considering how much hype and nostalgia there is for G1 MH dolls.
Now while it is stressful to want new dolls sooo badly, there is still hope to acquire these new dolls at retail price! And even outside of this specific release, the constant pressure to buy every doll as soon as it hits shelves is very real.
I wanted to share some stories of my past doll finds and shed light that sometimes being patient does reward you in the end!!
As fun as it is to get a new doll right as it is released, there is another type of joy in waiting and getting a doll for a great deal!
There are a ton of ways to collect and sometimes online only one way is talked about and celebrated, but this video is my PSA to my fellow doll enthusiasts out there to collect on your own terms and at your own pace!
Dolls should not be a form of stress and anxiety for us, and when they start encroaching and making us feel that way we should step back and introspect to see what feels right for us.
ALSO, me sharing my stories of past finds is in no way meant to come off as me bragging. It is my chance to discuss scenarios, circumstances, and tips in which you can be prepared for future deals and discounts!

yepp and even canada, here in quebec we barely get any sales and when we do not that much off and we dont get as much stock of mh or rh or we just dont get stock. or it takes longer for new dolls to come out and appear here in store. toyrusus overprices their toys so i dont even buy from em plus i dont have toysrus that close to me. also only have 2 walmarts close to me one i work in and its like i said not much restock or they restock the same thing and dont stock other stuff, no good cheap sales either. amazon ca is good and has sales but i feel like if i dont get right away things sell out/become unnavailable and might take a while to show up again if they even do for retail. for me rn i wanna catch up to some dolls like g3 and rh specially now that theres sales happenin and wll happen bc of thanksgivings but im broke :c specially bc now dolls are so expensive like mattel creations dolls (didnt get spectra yet bc knew she wouldnt sell out plus broke) plus other collector mh amazon dolls like howlidy clawdeen and stitched in style (havent gotten howliday skelita bc hopin she will down in price to 50cad bc howliday clawdeen went down to 50cad literally the day i recieved mine) so im kinda annoyed that she went down in price right away but skelita hasnt and i could ve spent less for clawdeen but didnt. same for stitch in style frankie she ended up bein 10cad cheaper if i hadnt preorded her, but its like we never know if its gonna sell out or not if its gonna go down in price or not. also i wanna catch up before more dolls come out next year that i wanna get right away like creepos (i dont wanna miss out on em like i did the other creepos bc we didnt get em in stores here and or toysrus overpiced em (same for reel drama) and i didnt wanna get em bc of high price nd thought/hoped they would be at walmart ca or amazon ca for retail and they werent) so dont wanna make same mistake next year with new creepos. plus there will be new g3 dolls and ghouluxe operetta who will sell out. and yeh g3 are considered playline but i already cant find g3 skultimate secrets s1 drac for retail.. so i feel like ive to catch up of some g3 before my store doesnt have em anymore (plus also they on sale rn and ive employee discount so perfect time to get em..but theres soo many and im broke lol) so cant even get one

I just want to know how much you are appreciated. You are so kind and think of others that you're just a pleasure to watch I got to the point where I just had to stop thinking some of the new releases that were coming out because I couldn't get them I didn't want to fight and it was exasperating my generalized anxiety disorder. So I kind of just said you know what I'm just going to be patient and Hunt if I get them I get them. But I don't understand why my Mattel's doing these releases the way they are. Because they're not drumming up more business they're driving people away from collecting. Again I just adore you and you're my go to Doll Collector Channel. Plus you're so thoughtful it's almost like getting free therapy ❤

I AM THE SAME!!! the only time I buy dolls at full price is when I feel they are a limited release, or I’m paying resale. But I go to target and PRICE MATCH EVERYTHING

Thank you for the hacks on how to get the dolls for less! I found a saran Clawdeen at walmart so I bought a poly one at target and returned that one to walmart because at target she was $15 and at walmart she was $24. Im still on the hunt for a core saran Cleo! Wish me luck haha 😊

I’m a little jealous you were able to find the Reel Drama Draculaura (my Amazon order was canceled) but I am so proud of you for asking for a discount and wow what a discount!! Alas my Targets (nor Walmarts) don’t have as good sales as others do-I went to three Targets trying to find Coffee Break Frankie on sale but nope all the normal prices. That’s so cool you found them for the sale price! And such good advice to be confident, I need reminding of that 😊 I need to remember to check my Macys and Best Buy’s 😄 WOW I didn’t realize the LOL Queens went on such a good sale at Target!! My Target did have RH Series 4 for sale but mine were all wonky, but I did love that series a lot. I’m waiting for SH Series 3 to go more on sale 😄 I like how you say you both fail and win but you keep doing it😊 Great video 😄

And yeah retail stores can be so inconsistent with sales, it’s so frustrating! But then when you do get lucky and score a great deal it all balances itself out :)

They had some of, the dolls on sale when i looked at Amazon yesterday on Monster High i was even surprised they had, Neon Frights on Sale well only Twyla and Frankie also Toralie also some of the core dolls not all though, u are right to share this topic here thanks for sharing.

I was able to get all three ghouls yesterday, but I was super fortunate in that regard. FOMO is real in the doll community - but you certainly hit the nail on the head... Just wait for sales for non collector items especially playline do not feel like you need every single release.

Totally feel you, new dolls are exciting but a huge part of the fun for me is being able to find them on sale. The only dolls I've bought full price in the past few years are core G3 Toralei cause my Walmart stocks poorly and i was worried she'd run out of stock, and then for RH Victoria Whitman cause I missed out on Jewel and now refuse to pay 50 for her secondhand, and knew Victoria would be like Delilah and Jewel and would be a major favorite. Otherwise I go secondhand or wait for those yummy clearance sales. Just got Twyla for 11.50 and still living in the glow of that excitement, but that Reel Drama Drac was like The Find of the Century!! ❤ waiting for monster ball to go down below 20 to get one clawdeen for me and one for my mom for xmas. They hit 20 on Amazon for a lil while but I feel like they'll go even further before the end of the year.

Great video! I am sure this will be helpful to many! I am always on the hunt for a bargain 😊I also started collecting when the RH dolls were all going on sale on Amazon. That was so much fun! I love your stories of how you got bargains 🥰I do not have any Targets near me 😞and my local Walmart hardly ever has sales but i still keep an eye out and have been able to get many bargains since i started collecting. I don't think i have ever got a $13.00 doll though maybe $17.00 i usually won't go higher than $20.00 except when it comes to Monster high and a few Bratz. I can't believe it but after i saw your last video and i was looking for snowalicious i walked into my tiny walmart and there was the pack you got and there was only one left! I think you sent me the luck to manifest them😊 I was so happy! I think i squealed a little and my hubby rolled his eyes lol but i got them. Thanks to you and your video! Thank you so much!
