The reason they hate the Minx era is the oversaturation of concepts like theirs at the time. They never stood out from the glut. Siyeon and Jiu actively questioned if they wanted to even continue in music after the failure of Minx. Thank goodness Happyface's CEO believed in the girls enough to redebut them as DC. They're far more comfortable as DC now and it reignited their love of music.

InSomnia don't hate Minx. We just hate that this was a terrible time for the girls. Siyeon couldn't watch music shows anymore because she could not see others fulfill the dream that she could not fulfill. When they released Love Shake, it had been a year (!!!) since Why did you come to my home. And that was a b-side by Dal Shabet, who were also from Happyface, so the chances of it working out were low, but the girls gave it their all. The company later said that it was not the girls' fault that Minx failed, it was the company's fault. And the fact that they drowned in a "red ocean" of groups like Twice and Red Velvet. The re-debut as Dreamcatcher was nerve-wrecking for the girls, but it instantly went much better and they have been growing since then. Plus, at the very least Siyeon and JiU are very much into rock, this suits them much better! And finally mad props to JiU as the leader, who must have had a terrible time during the Minx disbandment, but she kept the girls together and strong, so they could succeed as Dreamcatcher! 🤘

Above all, as well, Gfriend was a bit hit to Minx during that time, of all the 'cuter concepts' Gfriend had a very close relationship with Minx's specific concept/theme, except, Gfriend stood wayy further out of the pack. Massive debut.

JiU just kinda fit in with it, but ofc the disbandment hit her especially hard, Dami was just... probably happy to be relieved of Maknae duty, SuA mainly hated her hair, and Siyeon.... of all the member of Dreamcatcher, we don't talk about Minx around Siyeon, Handong meme'd Minx SuA right in front of her face, but I don't think even Handong would overstep any Minx boundaries around Siyeon, she was especially hurt by it all. - Not to say that Minx didn't hurt ALL the members, to varying extents.

DC are not hating on minx music, but instead on the past memories as minx. Their career as minx is really frustrating, being hiatus on long time because they didn’t get the support, and end up disband. Most notable, Siyeon said she spent her time playing games to relieve that nightmare. Now that they found success in DC, they don’t want to go back to that hell.

Honestly when I first saw the MV for 'Why did you come to my home', I felt uncomfortable with how over sexualised the girls were, I mean they were young but equally if you're trying to appeal to an audience by how sexual the video is, then really you don't really want them to be your audience. It should be about their talent not their bodies, so I'm happy that in DC, they don't have that sexualised aspect and do shine through their talent. I agree sometimes men don't see it as over sexualised which is saddening when women feel exposed and men don't even notice.

This is what I think just based on observations (could be wrong of course): -Dami finds the Minx era cringy, because she doesn't like acting cute and on some performances she had weird hairstyles -Siyeon didn't like doing sexual moves, wearing little clothes and doing cute stuff -Sua didn't like the short hair/bobcut -Jiu and Yoohyeon were overall fine with the concept -All of them had a terrible time during the hiatus, not knowing if they would disband or not and what their future will be like, because Minx flopped so hard

It's actually the members of DC that have a hard time talking about Minx, but I think some fans have misinterpreted that as DC thinking Minx was cringey. I think it's more that the ladies had a very hard time during the Minx days and maybe tend to feel a sense of failure when they think about that time and that's where the cringe comes from. Just recently Jiu, Sua, and Siyeon were live streaming for Sua's birthday and when they went to do karaoke, Jiu and Sua were trying to see if Love Shake was available and Siyeon screamed "No!" and ran out of the room. So, I think there's a lot of complicated emotions they have attached to Minx, which is sad because the music was very good. I'm down for Dreamcatcher to try any genre, my only wish is that they stick with their theme of keeping their songs gender neutral. It means a lot to me that anyone can relate with their current music whereas Minx, just like almost ever other girl group, becomes exclusionary when using gendered terms. But, I don't think it would be hard to put a Dreamcatcher spin on this Minx concept. ^_^

@@ArthemizSBJ oh i'm sorry there's not an actual clip of her saying she hates minx but she has shown in different occasions that's she's not comfortable or feels awkward talking about her minx day. In an old interview (i think it was during the piri era) the interviewer asked the girls who wanted to try a cute concept and the only person that answered was yoohyeon saying "no one" and siyeon didn't look pleased lol. Also during bora's birthday vlive the other day they were doing karaoke, and after minji asked "is love shake here?" siyeon said "NO" and run away. So overall some members don't mind singing or dancing to minx's songs or talking about those days, but siyeon never does. I hope this helped !!

Their songs are really catchy just like their sister group DalShabet's song. The mistake is that Korean pop is full of that cute concept and a lot of groups didn't even make it pass their debut song. Respect for their passion and the company that are able to turn the table and make it as Dreamcatcher as we know today. Dreamcatcher deserves the world. There's nothing wrong with the MINX era, music is cutesy (maybe slight cringe looking back at it) but it was a perfect fit for the 2015 era and for their debut. However, with Happyface being a small company, so many other groups hitting the same kind of concept, and strong debuts from groups like Red Velvet and TWICE; it was all just bad timing for them and they were being overlooked and not getting the recognition they deserved. Honestly if placed in their same position and seeing their new group not doing so hot, I would be pretty embarrassed and disappointed at the results. But thanks to Happyface, they scrapped MINX and in due time switched it up with a dark, rock-infused group known as Dreamcatcher to catch everyone and the K-pop industry by surprise. I really liked these songs surprisingly, but I am a fan for Dreamcatcher's dark concept and taking on different genres for every song. Which makes Dreamcatcher so unique and one of my personal favorite girl groups to listen over everything else.
