@@lindsayiflyfish I’m new to fly fishing and was scratching my head at the weekend about how to recover a drowned CDC. You’ve just answered that for me so, without further ado, I’m off to my local tackle shop.

Absolutely deadly pattern Lindsay....I fish dries by choice..all year round nowadays..these..top hats..mini daddies and size 20 beetles. Just a handful of patterns but boy are they effective. As you know the buzz you get when a fish takes is quite something. Really enjoyed the buzzer tutorials and cannot wait for the next installment of this series. Regards Robbie.

It certainly is an exciting way to fish. Hope the series is helpful to folks just starting down the dry fly path. 👍

CDC is imho one of the most useful and underestimated fibres we have, buoyant and mobile, be used as wing, hackle, shuck, or added to dubbing mixes for use at the thorax. At a push aero wing, antron fibres, craft fur, even egg yarn when soaked in floatant can also do the job.

Great one Lindsay, use quite a bit of CDC, attracts fish but not the most robust or long lasting material. Will try the pattern out this weekend. Thanks

I clean the cdc after each catch and flick it with it hooked over a rubber band or use amadou to dry it off and then I tie on a different fly and let it air dry while I fish the second one. I can usually rotate them all hatch long.
@lindsayiflyfish Жыл бұрын
@@MarcTelesha I have seen the rubber band method very clever.

Hi Lindsay, nice tie. Could you use thin black wire instead of the stretchy stuff?
@lindsayiflyfish Жыл бұрын
You could you won’t get the same pronounced rib though.

Soz, another question, how important is the colour of the cdc-I have some ‘light Dun’ that I’m wondering if it could work
@lindsayiflyfish Жыл бұрын
I would normally use just natural but am running short. Light sun will be fine.
