A house hags work is just never done is it Elliot!? Now Hilda, you can make yourself a nice cuppa, with your hair tied into head knot scarf, sit on a chair, and watch your laundry dry and maybe straighten the flying ducks on the wall. Yes a laundry vlog. Laundry line drying etiquette dictates that under crackers are to be pegged to the inside lines for respectability and to thwart the passerby's scrutiny in evaluating the size of the bits that occupy them. Cats like to be high up ...that's a fact..... they will jump up on walls, climb over shrubbery...etc. my cat jumped from the floor to the top of fridge! So when they are outside it is their nature to climb, jump, go high up and hunt as well. Have to keep a sharp eye on them.

i bought a clothes dryer and then to save on electricity i put solar panels on the roof. its a tad extravagent but i love the set up😘💖😘💖australia with a very hot sun

There's a special fence topper to put in your backyard that prevents cats from climbing over.

Like a previous commentor said before me it's angled Inward and a cat will not jump over it because of the way the angle is it fools them into thinking that they can't go over it. I'm not really sure 100% how it works but it does work. You can see it in action on other people's KZbin channels. So glad that bows okay thank goodness you were there to save him! 🙀

Love your Pearls, Elliott... The planting in the garden is coming along well... So glad Bo is ok, how selfish and mindless some people are in areas were dogs should be on leads... I remember once, my daughter Mia was 2 years old, coming out of Nursery and a stupid man had his dog off its lead it jumped on Mia putting her off dogs, shes now 15 and still scared of them, people need to realise not everyone like dogs and to be aware that in areas were they should be on leads.... Something on top of the fence that angles slightly in towards the yard would make it much harder for Beau to scale the fence.

Could put trellis along the top, you could staple some garden material over it before you put it up. Maybe you could make it lower near the inside of your fence, like dig a trench out

I think there are fence toppers made specifically for cats. It has to be at an angle so it goes over their heads to deter them from jumping…

We also changed our dryer for a heatpump one 2 years ago, it takes longer to dry but I don't mind as energy consumption is really low. I don't even hang dry anything since we have it, all goes in the dryer even woollens as the temperature is lower. Your cat is really cute ! Glad he wasn't hurt poor kitty...

I am that ‘sad person’ - I much prefer your new tumble dryer as it matches your washing machine better 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 TWO HOURS to dry those few towels - wowcha that’s a long time. My drier dries two bath sheets, two smaller towels and 4 flannels in about 45 minutes 😮. Mind you I put my towels on an extra dry spin - you might want to try this before you out in the tumble drier - works a treat

Is Beau fixed? Unaltered males will want to wander and getting them neutered reduces this a lot (but not completely sadly.... all 5 of my cats are males). Once he's gotten the taste of getting out, he will want more. I have a similar situation with one my boys who is missing one leg... he cannot go out unattended because if a dog were to go after him, he could not run fast for very far nor could he get back over the fence into our yard (like you we tried a fence and discovered he could find ways to get over it). We've resigned ourselves to putting him on a harness/lead and going out in the back garden with him because he is not to be trusted to not escape. :( Good luck!!!!

So sorry that Beau had such a frightening experience. I have a Weimaraners who are known to react badly with cats. However I made sure they were brought up with cats as I am an animal lover. My present weim is OK with all cats but can just switch to hunting mode if they run. He is a gentle soul but something primeval kicks in. I have to be very careful with him because of this as would never get over him harming an animal. Some people don't get that animal ownership comes with responsibility. House looking fab.

Yes it’s still used. We didn’t use it much in the summer but have began again now. You can also use regular powdered chocolate or Ovaltine too.

Sorry to hear about Beau’s ordeal, try not to get too worked up over what the dog owner said, I imagine they were just trying to say that many different types of animals have a prey drive (we had a rabbit who was killed in our garden by the neighbours cat who jumped the fence) but I imagine in they didn’t articulate themselves in the best way. Glad he’s okay though! Best of luck with Matt’s channel too! :)

Oh my God, I can understand your getting upset over that dog trying to attack Beau. I am a dog owner and I would never allow my dogs to attack any animal. I had a dog years ago that had been attacked by a cat so when we adopted him we had to teach him that it was okay to be around cats. I am currently the proud mama of a rescue dog (which I lovingly call my Heinz 57 Mutt) and a Corgi. I love them to bits so I know the love you and Matt have for you fur babies. I hope Beau has learned his lesson and will not jump the fence again. I know he wants to explore. Maybe taking him out with a leash and a harness on an outing with Daddy may help. The drying time is longer with heat pump but it uses its own recycled heat. Therefore it is much more energy efficient than a regular dryer.

I have a dog but I never ever let him off leash if there are other dogs or cats about it’s just wrong…thankfully my dog loves cats and only wants to play but I still don’t let him near a cat without me been in control of him….very traumatic experience for you and Beau.

I can take a wild guess what dog breed that was, there’s a particular type of breed that attracts a particular kind of owner that are well known for this behaviour, even her response is exactly what I’d expect and it’s a breed well known for mauling cats Even if your in an off leash area it’s general dog owner etiquete to NOT let off your dog if they don’t have excellent recall. No one should be obligated to interact with your dog and if she immedietly jumped to offering to pay vets bills i doubt this is the first time it’s happened I would have called the council to ask who it needs to be reported to. As beau wasn’t hurt they likely won’t even record it but it’s still worth being the pain in the backside who reports it. You might also have neighbourhood groups (usually on Facebook) where people share warnings about this kind of thing

LOVE Tahitian pearls!!!!! we ride bikes on a trail......dogs are allowed ON A LEAD. and people ignore it. they are all over the trail, and I almost hit one while on the bike. idiots. glad Beau is ok.
