I pedal bike off-road so I’ll never touch dirt on a Multistrada
@ProjectMoto3 жыл бұрын
Yeah some will prefer either the 1260 or the V4 depending on what they mainly use it for, engine preference etc..tbh I think most average riders would not really push the bike enough on the road anyway, it certainly does ride great at ‘slightly’ above average speed on the road ,they have changed so much with the whole bike it’s not like they have just put a bigger wheel on the 1260 which you would notice, when it’s dry I will take both bikes out again and see how , in the conditions we rode in it handled fine ,for me I would have a different type of bike if I was purely just riding on the road, there comfy and great to.ride but too big for me to live with day to day ,for off road I have my KTM150sx which is perfect for me .... mmm 2 stroke :)

Nice video and in my opinion isn't justified a change from the 1260 to the new V4 (maybe only for the technology of the radars) but, the engine is very nice in both models and, *the price of the V4 is so high* for now I know it can be justified... Or maybe not

Multistrada 1200/1260 was unique in a sense that it has 17” wheels, it can keep up with any sport bike on mountain roads, and is a wild torque monster. This new bike is NOT as good looking, it’s got the wrong wheel size for mountain roads, it has less torque so you gotta rev it higher to get the same fun out of it. I’m just having a hard time understanding how this bike is more exciting!!! Comfortable sure but exciting no way. Give me a 1260 and I’ll smoke this V4 on mountain roads. It’s and ehhhh bike for me.

For sure some will prefer the 1260 , especially if they have had one for a while , same as some like the 1299 Panigale over the v4 etc, just personal preference, a lot of when a bike smokes another bike is more down to the riders ability and confidence, tbh when I’m out I rarely see anyone pushing a bike and riding it hard on the road, guess it depends on how and what someone wants to use it for , hopefully it will be dry soon to see what it’s like :)

There’s not a lot in it either way I don’t think, it’s hard to tell with the V4 as it’s so smooth .. speed feels very different on different bikes even though it may actually be the same

I want back 17 inch front wheel, 1260 design and the same wonderful rider seat.
@ProjectMoto3 жыл бұрын
i haven't actually riding the bike again yet because of the weather but the bike felt fine with the bigger wheel at normal, sometimes a bit above normal speeds but wasn't really pushing it in the bends, the design is obviously different to the 1260 but i actually quite like the new one and most that have seen it in the flesh have said the same, as for the seat its comfy , have you seen or sat on the new one yet? everyone will have their own preference between the 1260 and the v4 i guess

Which feels mote brutal and aggressive to ride V4 or 1260? If there’s not a huge difference then I would go for a 1260 :)
@ProjectMoto Жыл бұрын
The V4 feels faster to me, the v4 engine has a similar power delivery to the twin but is a lot another and easier to ride.. just depends if you like a twin or a v4 engine really , they are both great bikes

Ducati desided to change their approach for this Adventure motorcycle which is Less a road bike and more Enduro motorcycle. You can see it with 19 inch wheel and rear the double sided swingarm. Beside there is the design itself which is not Classy anymore. Personally i am disappointed from this new design and probably will not upgrade for the new one.
@ProjectMoto3 жыл бұрын
I prefer the v4 to the 1260 , others will like the 1260, you should test ride it , it’s not like they put the 19” wheel straight on the 1260, the v4 is a totally different bike, for me I would only buy an adventure style (not just Ducati) if I used it for enduro and adventure style holidays riding trails etc so if they made it more Adventurer that would be a bonus for me for that style of bike, but I understand people ride them for their comfort on the road and most 1260 have never seen anything but tarmac but then again if I want to ride off road I would ride my KTM150SX... for me on the road id have a Streetfighter V4 for a blast about ... and if I really wanted some fun I’d have an old classic 2 stroke :)

Didnt like the looks of the V4 initially but now its growing on me though it looks kinda HONDA-ISH. Dont like the radar setup-i guess one day it will be on all top-tier bikes , TFT looks fantastic and exhaust too is better than the twin.I guess a 1260 owner wouldnt notice the difference with the narrower rear tyre and taller front but the old wheel size looks better with the macho 190 rear. Really enduro and Pikes Peak models puzzle me-whos gonna take their ultra-costly Ducati off-road?? Hands up 1260 owners who go bush?
@ProjectMoto3 жыл бұрын
I think the same mate tbh , I really don’t think the average rider will notice the difference in the overall ride other then the v4 is smoother ,for me it initially feels better overall , I much prefer the v4 engine, some will like the twin ,The v4 is a totally different bike so it’s not like they stuck a 19” wheel straight on a 1260 that someone has got used to for years , yeah it might ride different to the 1260 but every bike rides different, had people who preferred their 1299 Panigale over their new V4 , just peoples personal preferences and riding styles, personally I wouldn’t have a Multistrada, it’s a brilliant all round bike but just not my style of bike, if I want to go off road I use my KTM dirt bike , but if I was to go off touring around trails and mountains etc then a Multistrada and a set of different tyres for more off road would be brilliant ... but to expensive for me to do or risk

New bike is not as good looking as the 1260 and it is bulky! Dash looks nice and I’m sure it’s a great bike! A traditional Ducati not so much! Missing the L twin, desmo valve train, trellis frame and single sided swing arm! Great bike I’m sure it is but not that Ducati experience!

Yeah and no doubt there will be a few people who think exactly the same, me personally I prefer the V4 engine , others will only like the twin engine , they are both really goods bikes so for me if I wanted a Multistrada I would just test ride both and see what was best for me

A 19-inch front wheel 😬 and a 170/60 rear, are not really something the sportier all-road rider is looking for 🤢 Stick to my 2018 1260S 😁
@ProjectMoto3 жыл бұрын
Yeah for sure usually I would agree but having ridden it , yeah not in the best conditions to really test the bike at speed on the road but it actually felt easier to ride , be interesting to see what it’s like in the dry and how much difference it makes
@Chr-Re-ie3 жыл бұрын
@@ProjectMoto I believe he steers well and drives well as long as it is about tourist cruising. from the moment you really hit the throttle on twisty roads you will feel the difference between a 17 inch wheel and a 19 inch wheel. A 19-inch wheel simply steers slower than a 17-inch wheel, if you then turn the throttle a bit harder with a large lean angle, the 170/60 rear tire will play tricks on you. With a 170/60 rear tire with a large lean angle you have much less rubber on the asphalt than with a 190/55 so for really sporty rides give me a 17 inch front wheel and a 190/55 tire size at the rear. for the rest, nice motorcycle, but we are used to that from Italians .

@@Chr-Re-ie oh yeah for sure , will see what it’s like in the dry , they have changed a whole lot with the rest of the bike so will see how it all works together , tbh I am fan of the Streetfighter v4 , just fits me better and like how it rides other then that it’s a classic 2 stroke for me :) The v4 and 1260 are both great bikes and everyone will have their favourite I just think this Multistrada V4s is a lot better for me personally for this type of bike then the 1260 where as some will prefer the small wheel and the twin engine , depends on how they ride and what they use it for the majority of the time I guess

@ProjectMoto3 жыл бұрын
what monster do you have ? tbh the Multistrada v4 is a totally different bike to ride and has more functions then a monster, it wasn't really a demo of the bike and what it does was just have a ride of it against the 1260, it was good and would of rather of been on a Multistrada (either of them) in the winter then any other ducati, i wouldn't buy one as they are not really my style of bike (nor can i afford one) but can appreciate what they can do, i doubt most of these will be used for what they were designed for at £22k
