New easter egg found in Space Quest IV after 30 years!

A new easter egg has been discovered in Space Quest IV that, to my knowledge, has gone unseen for 30 years. It was discovered by a magician who wrote special software and is probably in league with the dark lord.

Dude that is fucking insane. It's amazing seeing these old games still get new discoveries from easter eggs to glitches or speedrun strageties. You think after about a decade that everyone has pretty much got everything of this game down from front to back across not only the base game but various ports, remasters, demakes, remakes. Keep em coming Sierra fanbase :D It's always such a joy seeing so many communities find these oddities.

I actually got the 2 guys turning their head thing in the ship in space quest 3 without using any hacking or bugs. basically what happened was I kept dying in the ship battle because my targeting wouldnt lock so i reloaded save which was in the ship menu before the fight. I got out of that window and the Andromeda guy was facing the screen and talking. So basically you have to go into the ship controls and then back out before starting the fight to get it.

I'm still disappointed they didn't put more easter eggs in the time machine. After discovering Ortega, I wasted WAY too much time punching in other random codes hoping to find something else. (I mean, they were reusing old assets. Why *not* throw in some more gags?)

My memory of this game is that by sniffing some wall or something I got a "oops you tried something we didn't think of" and the game crashed. It was a very disappointing experience

Seems point and click is Alive and well on iOS wish it was the same everywhere though I recently played guard duty on ps4 and it reminded me of discworld or blazing dragons !! Whispers of a machine wasn’t bad! Also really enjoyed technobabylon that was great wish Sierra still made games

Yes - BUT it also has a Space Quest tie-in. It was used in the "Current Inside Copy" mockumentary on the Space Quest Collection CD-ROMs.

@@albertadoommaker50 You got me there. I don't know if it was. This was around the time when Dan Kehler was music director and they were building a sort of "shared library" of music - which is how music from SQ6 wound up in KQ7. So it is entirely possible.

I was able to 'dust off' my copy of the diskette version and experience these for myself! This version is quite the powerhouse! Not only does it contain exclusive easter eggs (As many other ports and releases of other Sierra games do!) It is also one of the very few to NOT be plagued by the infamous timer bugs of the late 90s-early 2000s! Have you ever tried the game-breaking go to the mall early bug?

Oh, so... You play the game up to getting the code, then restore a game from before then - say, when you steal the first time pod - and punch in the Galleria code! I'll have to try that out.
