New edition Hail Caesar Battle Report Romans v Pyrrhic Greeks Beware the Ides of March!

Here we go, taking the new Hail Caesar rules for a spin, 500points, 3 divisions, we are using half-units (so instead of 4 bases, just 2 , per unit) until more reinforcements can be painted. Epic Julius Caesar vs the goddess Athena in glorious hand to hand combat.

I've enjoyed all three games. The Pyrrhic army has some great heavy cavalry that might help the war effort. I play Carthaginians vs Roman and attacks on the flanks with cavalry and light troops works pretty well. Charlie

Loved it. A good walk through of the new rules. The fort looks great! I like that you can take out the leaders.

yeah its a nice addition. They provide more of a bonus but are more at-risk.

Looking forward to getting both my Spartans and Persians painted up. I plan on using GW contrast paint to start. I am also hoping to get up to meet up with you guys. Your only 2 hrs away. Did you have some sort of force builder? If so what did you use?

We used the first edition Classical Armies book for the lists, but I have a quick and dirty excel sheet that does the math for me. I can email it to you if you like

Hi! I want to start into Hail Caesar and just want to ask: Is this a fight which could really possible happend? Are the roman legions fight with armours like that against greek phalanx? Because they look like imperial romans? I`m asking just out of interest. Thank you for this awesome battle report and greetings from Germany! :)

Oh Im not sure all I know is I like the hollywood style romans, IE the Early Imperial Romans, so thats what I painted. In Hail Caesar, you can play anyone.. so I can play vs Samurai or whatever...
