Your painting and basing brings these to life - once they’re done they look the part of a ranked army of individuals and the infantry’s unique sculpting & assembly tricks are hidden. Eagerly awaiting getting my hands on a sprue with the next WI.

Long time watcher! Total side question, but starting a First Crusade/ Normab force and was curious of what size the bases were that you used! Thanks as always and keep up the good work!

Thanks very much, so I use bases from Big Red Bat and the ones I use for infantry are the FK& P13B and for cavalry FK&P6 👍

@@7thson726 you certainly know your stuff! I was dead mad on the Punic Wars back in the day, I had 15mm and 20 mm armies. Haven't played it in a long time though. What do you think of the Epic Jumbo's? Do you think Carthage used towers?

I have started to enjoy 54mm stuff for sure 👍
@norm9773 ай бұрын
Thanks very much, that was super helpful. I am really torn between these and 28mm! I also thought the gap between each base didn’t look as bad as it does on some other Epic, because the shields add a little more frontage to each individual base. I am cheered to hear how quickly these paint up. Thanks again.

@@7thson726 Yeah, I got that. But that was what made the review so useful. I'm not going to go for these, I did the Punic Wars in 1/72 many many years ago, and I'm still staring at the Epic P&S stuff, I built a landscape for them but I'm having problems finishing them (so many other things come up to stop me). Anyway I look forwards to watching more of your videos.

Really informative vid - thanks! I've seen photos of the sprues, but I really enjoy how you discuss the sprue and then show the finished, painted units. It's also great that you choose to paint at a quick but colorful tabletop level, eschewing zillions of washes, highlights, etc. My philosophy for Epic scale is "make 'em look good, but don't go nuts", and I'm glad to see that these ancients look absolutely fantastic without going nuts. I'm chomping at the bit to get my pre-order Hannibal box in :D Thanks again, and great job.

The different painting styles between you two adds some "time on campaign" and some local/regional flavor between groups. Maybe some had been on a previous campaign and had either more worn gear or more elaborate gear from winning battles! Or maybe some were from different areas. Very cool.

Having shield transfers like Little Big Man (LBM) ones for these figures would entice many more players to get into this as they would look even more realistic
@rovens3 ай бұрын
Do you think so? I don't think every ancient soldier was a Michelangelo with a stunningly painted shield. Plus that is a lot of decals to apply. The boxes are coming with decals though i believe.
@7thson7263 ай бұрын
I do agree that it would help get people in. There are decals that come with them (I just didn't receive any 😅 so couldn't show them) I think at this scale the shield designs can be forgiving if you have a go yourself 👍
