Boss souls and weapons confirmed just from this trailer. Also the stat system looks to be simplified this go round. 3 Stats for Health, Mana, and Stamina. 4(5?) for damage Strength, Dex, Intellect, Faith. But the last one arcane, which was a stat from Bloodborne, that increased item discovery as well as magical scaling. Why would there be two magic stats? I’m convinced one of these is for the new summon spells. Hoping that equip load is incorporated into one of the body stats. Also the weight system is back from the soul series, but notice that the guy in the blood wolf armor was using step evades blood borne style. If that’s the new roll type hell yeah. Bloodborne had my favorite dodges, so much so that in dark souls 3 my favorite weapon was the bandit dagger(for bleed and for special dodge). This trailer is really REALLY getting to me in terms of hype.

Maybe there is a new one now. So like: Yellow = Faith Blue = Int Purple = Arcane Cause the one spell against the Boss on the Horse (Havel kinda guy) was Purple, but the rest of the spell were all Blue. In my opinion that would make sense, cause the Arcane is under both of the Spell stats we had before. Buuut.. it could be something different also lol.

@@yellowcard8100 I know, but that move was exclusive to certain daggers in DS3 and guy in the wolf armor was using a sword with a buckler in the trailer when he was doing that dodge type, now, granted this could just be the new weapon skill system they’ve mentioned, the one where you can learn skills that can be used for multiple weapons. I imagine it will be like Sekiros skill trees. But still, irregardless of whether my theories are right or wrong, I’m gonna be using weapons that can do that, or however I can step dodge. Because it’s so quick and fun.

If you missed it: The game seems to have Blood Borne type side dodges (seen in the last boss battle scene), Sekiro perfect parries with a sword (and with a shield) with a counter available, just like in Sekiro. Goddamn I'm hyped.

You're the first one I've seen figure out that the move at 12:35 is likely poise/superarmor related. Everyone else I've seen watch the video assumed it's a parry of sorts, when it looks nothing like a parry. There's even a blood animation on the character when hit. Lol

It looks flashy, but still very similar to darksouls magic where you just press a button while having a chime equipped and then your character does a lengthy animation that locks you in place and fires off a spell. In this game you get to be on horseback though so i guess it's more mobile, but it looks very samey to me. I wish it was a tad more dynamic, but i guess fromsoft games will always have a meelee focus. The spirit summoning thing looks neat though. Reminds me of those youtube vids where modders pitted bosses against each other

I'm worried about the open world bosses. How far will they chase the player before resetting? What prevents the fights from just progressing past the boss' "combat zone" and eliminating all progress made by the player? Will mobs spawn consistently in the same places like in dark souls games? If so, will the open world still feel "dynamic" enough? If not, will the drop rates of items and equipment at least be more consistent than in dark soul? There we could bee-line it to an enemy, kill it to see if it drops what we want and then rest at a bonfire to try again. This made the farming process very smooth, but if enemies spawn in "general areas" rather than fixed spots, then i fear the farming process. I'm excited, but i won't get hyped. Not after Cyberpunk. Not again...

I’m hyped. I assume the open bosses are mostly very mobile or ranged and have rapid catching/punishing or rapid fleeing mechanics upon reaching a certain distance

@@alalmalal which brings me to my question: how will the fights be constrained to the boss' "area"? I would absolutely hate to be almost done with a boss, but then dodge just a little too far and trigger the boss' "escape" or "hyper-aggressive" zone. If there's no arena then there's nothing keeping the fight in any one area. The fact that we can fight on horseback also means that we can probably just bail of it looks like things are going south... I feel like that might take away from the intensity and feel of the fights. In the other souls games if you exhausted your resources in a boss fight you had to either use a homeward bone (which is a limited resource that takes time to use and opens you up to attack) or die and lose your souls. If we can just flee on horseback then that removes a layer of dread. I want to like this game before its launch, but there are too many questions like these holding me back at present. Of course it is possible that the devs have thought up many clever solutions to problems like these, but it is just as possible that they have not. After the cyberpunk debacle i am very skeptical when it comes to the details. Hype won't give me my money and hope back if the game is a letdown.
