How does it ride?

Owner here :) It rides really well, its fast as hell on the flats and I really don't find it a slog on the uphills but certainly isn't a climber. Its stiff as hell so the power transfer is just super efficient. It draws a lot of attention which is either a pro or a con. The colour catches the eye for sure. The 30 mm tyres (setup tubeless) are a massive treat really transforms the comfort. Anecdotally I think 28's are faster in a race situation.

@@Alonnnz​​⁠to be honest the biggest thing was it’s more comfy. Both bikes were fast before (S works SL7 and Emonda SLR) this felt the same just a lot more comfortable. Not what you’d expect but that’s my honest experience.

I wanted something new and unique down the norm. By that measure it’s a no brainer. Depends what you after to be honest. Performance and quality wise you won’t be disappointed here. The scales tipped in at 7,58 kg's, its similar in weight to ultegra builds we've done but we did fit 30mm tyres, sealant and the paint job adds some weight too. What you do you think, too heavy or fair play?

@@ElvesBikesSA Sounds a bit heavy for Dura-Ace, but as you said you have added some things and it's a heavy paint job, so it sounds pretty good for an aero bike if we consider that the ultegra builts can reach that weight. Is the weight without pedals?

@@znalniaskas Yeah this sub 7kg thing has me (and a lot of others obsessed) I'd be lying if I said we didn't want to see it closer to 7kg's haha. But if you've seen these bikes, they have crazy tube angles and depth, proper aero bike and the spray job is insane so its par for the course haha.

@ Yeah man absolutely! Wheels and Tyres are a massive contribution factor. Simply going TPU on its own is an easy 100gm saving and then going with a lighter paint job (if weight is NB it’s a necessary sacrifice, this build that wasn’t the case at all) is another 150 gm - you welcome to DM us and we can send you a build breakdown you can follow. Enjoy the build process regardless. It’s such a rad process.

The scales tipped in at 7,58 kg's, we weren't sure how much weight this paint job was going to add and we'd hazard a guess of about 200grams which is a lot or nothing at all depending on who you ask :)

Si el peso es importante para ti, como lo es para la mayoría de nosotros, entonces la mejor manera de reducir ese número es trabajar con la bicicleta componente por componente. Hay muchas variables en el peso de una bicicleta: el cuadro, el manillar y la potencia son dos de ellas. Las ruedas contribuyen enormemente, los neumáticos y las cámaras/sellador, el grupo puede hacer que pese al menos medio kilo, si no más, los portabidones y el sillín también pueden hacer que pese unos cientos de gramos más. Es un viaje, pero es único y divertido si quieres ajustarlo. Aquí fuimos muy selectivos, aparte del trabajo de pintura. ¡Espero que esto te ayude!

​@@ElvesBikesSAEsta todo muy bien explicado, me alegro de su respuesta , mi sillin pesa 98g , ruedas con neumaticos 28 mm con tubelles 1800g , un soporte de briton , un soporte manillar original orome aeroevo 420/110 , y sram force axs , pintura doble color azul y verde , y todo ello el peso indicado , pero es un gran marco , pronto quiero comprar el elves vanyar pro disc y ruedas orome de 50 mm para tener una bici escaladora.
