Interesting story from the 2022 disc frame I've built in the last month: I recieved an email yesterday saying they had supplied me with the wrong C-ring adapter (the little part that goes on top of the top headtube bearing), this can cause the cap to rub on the frame and chip the paint. Indeed my paint was chipping slightly so I sent them a pic or 2. Today they've told me they are sending me a new c-ring. And a new frame.

Thank you Peter. Elves Bikes are committed to providing the highest level of service to our valued customers. Out of hundreds of Falath Pro 2022 frames manufactured in the past month, we ourselves identified that potentially 16 could have been affected. It was imperative that we took a proactive and transparent approach by contacting you directly to ask you if your frame had been affected. So far, we have only had one confirmed issue which is your frame. Without question, we are delighted to resolve the issue quickly and to your satisfaction. Thank you for your ongoing support of the brand, we sincerely value your trust in Elves bikes.

Great journey on the build with Johnny who deserves most of the Goolag Tube revenue plus a free haircut. A man of patience with those insane inner-wired handlebars deserves nothing less. Awaiting the next part of the saga while I enjoy rides on my Trek 5200 with rim brakes that Johnny can adjust with his eyes closed in 30 seconds.

Hi Jourdain, great video as usual, but this time a notch better! Two questions for you: 1) Have you used the adhesive sandpaper strip in the seat tube or just grip paste? 2) Do you know if direct mount for the real derailleur work on shimano ultegra Di2 R8150? Thanks man in advance!

Nicely filmed. But the build is useless price wise. Canyon Aeroad CF SL 8 Ultegra is £3800 without a season discount. Canyon would keep the value much much better.

When you grease the bolts you will overtighten them.
@DaveCM
@DaveCM Жыл бұрын
What? The torque is the torque. How does it over tighten them?
@nb_rebecca
@nb_rebecca Жыл бұрын
@@DaveCM The torque is indeed the torque, but how tight a fastener is at a given torque is affected by the friction between the bolt and thread! Lubrication reduces that friction, which in turn reduces torque needed for a given bolt tension/clamping force. With lubrication you need less force at your lever (tool) to overcome that reduced friction to stretch the bolt a given amount. If you tighten a wet bolt to a dry torque spec you've actually increased the tension and clamping force by a significant amount beyond spec which can definitely become an issue when clamping carbon part. Hope the explanation makes sense!

hahah... get the legs spinning!! Yeah, it's a task to install the cables. Ideally an integrated cockpit would be combined with an electric groupset so only 2 brake cables are routed which would be plenty of space.

I have a question about the bottom bracket. Actually, it should be a PressFit bearing or? The designation SPF30 suggests it at least. The PF stands for PressFit. But I'm confused because the bearing is not pressed but screwed. I have ordered my frame with BB30-24. Should therefore be the same as that in the video. I'm a little confused right now and do not know which one to buy.
@JourdainColeman
@JourdainColeman Жыл бұрын
Hi Patrick, it is indeed a pressfit bottom bracket - Press fit - The cups of the frame have no thread, they are a carbon surface. - www.bike-components.de/assets/a/Pictured-is-the-bottom-bracket-shell-on-a-Factor-L-95c6c65984b92eb007d85bb4fa6ebf8c.webp - Threaded - The threads for the bottom brackets are actually part of the frame. i0.wp.com/www.londoncyclist.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/bottom-bracket-area.jpg For this bottom bracket it's a bit unique, the two parts of the bottom bracket screw into themselves which basically presses them into the frame (if that makes sense). A normal press fit bottom bracket can be used as well. From my experience having the thread makes it easier to install. You can also press one side into the frame, then screw the other side into the side that you pressed. That's what we done on this build - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jICXm62vhKmNZ5I

I bought the same saddle. As I think you showed in a previous video, it's a very flexible shell. I've only ridden it once, and could feel it sinking down when I sat on it. So I think to have the same saddle height I'd need to raise it some. But I wondered, do you think the flexibility will create a stability problem on the bike? All the higher end saddles I have are solid except for the padding, nowhere near this much flex.
