Some times you say cutting fluid off for videoing and others are blank. Can you explain if and when coolant / cutting fluid is needed / required or just nice to have. Still love the data you give to the world. It means your not worried. You and the team has the abilities to use the machines and tools at optimum the data gives the starting point for many .
@opendstudio71413 жыл бұрын
Cutting fluids are used to aid in reducing friction an clearing chips from the work zone. It is also used to control heat buildup and keep red hot metal chips from melting through plastics and rubber parts on a machine. There are times when it is necessary to cool waste chips to control destructive metal fires with some alloys or combinations. Even with flood coolant fire can still occur. If you have never witness a CNC machine on fire you would never realize how intense and difficult they are to extinguish. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ7Gd52Ae6lmo5Y

The only time u dont want to use coolant is when doing High Speed Milling and the times when u want is in any other scenario unless u have to deal with some certain types of exotic plastics that are not allowed to get wet

How does flood coolant not cause thermal shocking?
@thekeyfox3 жыл бұрын
Because it’s flooded, not intermittent. Turning coolant off, then back on, then off again will absolutely cause thermal shock.

Good morning! I’ve found the academy so helpful so far but my only gripe is that after the first 10 mastercam tutorials I’ve been left craving more! 😆 I was hoping for more tutorials of complex, 5 axis, aerospace-type parts to be drawn (CAD) and programmed (CAM) so I could feel more comfortable applying for a job in the industry doing that. The first ten parts is a great start but I’d like to get through quite a few more before I feel hirable as a CNC programmer. So with that said, Is there a plan for the future regarding additional Mastercam tutorials? Thanks so much. I appreciate everything you guys are doing! It’s changing the industry for the better and bringing work back to the states! Boom!

How is this possible ;o I have the same steel but a pretty tiny desktop CNC machine (though the frame is steel, ball screws, linear rails etc), but I can cut slots with at most 4mm carbide endmill, 0.2mm at a time and then I see this - it literally removes the volume of the whole fucking stock I'm cutting in a split second and it would take my machine like 10h omg
@Stasiek_Zabojca3 жыл бұрын
How much power does it need to run that tool like that? 😲 Also, I was thinking if you could make a video about using HSS and carbide slit saws for steel and alu? After all, it could be a very fast way to part off small finished elements from bigger chunk of material so you don't have to take it off machine and cut it on saw and/or facemill. That's a huge timesaver 🤔
