Sam, Glad you received your new stainless steel motor mounts in time for your maintenance. They look great!! Let us know if there's anything we can help with. We're researching manufacturing more parts for Yanmar motors. We mostly manufacture in stainless steel, so making upgraded Yanmar parts is right up our alley! Cheers my friend!!

Don't forget you have to align the drive train now that you changed engine mounts. This is done by loosening the shaft then using feelers to measure the gap as you turn shaft. It is adjusted at engine mount level

Sam, I just wanted to say a quick thank you for inspiring me to get into sailing. I bought a boat this year and I’m loving every minute of it. My background in adventuring was of the 2-wheeled motorcycling variety, but since starting a family that’s not really possible. Sailing and getting out on the water has opened my eyes to the adventures just outside my door, and allows me to enjoy it with my family. My son will grow up learning the joys of the water, and in no small part that’s down to you. Many thanks my dude! From Cornwall, UK.

I love your videos, very inspiring. I'm becoming obsessed with the idea of sailing and have a modest budget but you're showing me that it canbe done with the right level of motivation. I live in the south of england so not such a bad place to start from. I've recovered spiritually/mentally etc from some pretty bad times and now the most important thing is that I enjoy myself a bit over the immediate. Keep doing your thing, you look very happy and I hope life treats you well.

Sam....there are a few things you can do to make your vessel even more reliable....every electrical connection you service...use a wire brush to completely clean all the lugs and once you reinstall them use diaelectric grease to coat them. this will prevent or inhibit future corrosion. also...if you think you have enough, of anything...as far as hose, wire etc, you dont....always allow 20% more. Never skimp out on the little things. take the extra time to completely clean and future proof every single repair/renovation. this will see you into the future much better than just barely getting it done.

When I sand my antifouling paint I always do it wet, using a sanding pad and paper used for sanding cinder blocks (or breeze blocks for those in the UK) the holes in the paper stop it getting blocked up with paint and the water makes the whole job easier and cleaner. I just wet the surface and then regularly dunk and wash the paper and pad in a bucket of water as I go.

Sam, great video (as usual) - we also replaced our boat engine mounts a year or so ago. We had a similar issue where the machined bolt was spinning as the thread in the engine bearer was stripped.
