Bouncing back from a losing 1995 season, the Patriots made it to their second Super Bowl in team history after an 11-5 regular season.

was so glad belichick went with brady but bledsoe started the winning attitude in n.e.

Bledsoe was not the same after Parcells left, it seemed he mind of half assed and it finally caught up with him in 2001, he had two more ok year with buffalo and one last one with Parcells with the cowboys then in 2006, sadly he was not the same he was passed his prime. I still think what could of been for Drew's career if Parcells stayed with the patriots

@@arthurmorgan7910 Not to mention the fact that he never adjusted his game from a pocket passer to a get out of the pocket and move even a few inches to create space for the offensive line, as well as to throw off the defense. That was his ultimate undoing.

New England at Dallas - the Patriots have won the last five meetings since this 1996 game.

ahh, back in the day when you got these feel good "I lost the Super Bowl" team video reviews. As a Patriots fan now I only get a team video review when my team has actually won the whole damn thing. 5 Super Bowls later and my dvd shelf is getting crowded. It's called progress.

Parcells is the father of the Patriot dynasty. He deserves 1/3 of the credit...2/3 goes to Brady and Belichick

I don't know if I'd go that far. He did betray us and left us in the middle of the night after the SB loss. It took five years to recover from his cowardly move. Thank god for BB!

1996-2016 - Patriots eight AFC Titles, five Superbowls

And in that span they have only missed the playoffs 4 times in that span, they should have made the playoffs 1999 after starting 4-0 and played terrible in the second half of the season.
@STP43FAN17 жыл бұрын
Indeed - 1999 frustrated the heck out of me.
@DrSanto917 жыл бұрын
Exactly they should have been 5-0 if adam vinateri did not miss a chip shot 32 yard field goal in kansas city. And then they lost to maimi with 23 seconds left, after the pats offense went 3 an out. I think in those two games the wheels were starting to falling off in the season and pete carroll lost control of the lockeroom and came off the bye week losing 6 of their next 8 games by going 2-6.
@STP43FAN17 жыл бұрын
Indeed. An underrated angle was when Ben Coates turned against Carroll and Bledsoe during the bye week; he was held without a catch at Arizona and spoke against not being bigger in the offense; then of course late that year were the two Milloy-Brisby brawls.
@DrSanto917 жыл бұрын
Yup i remember the milloy and brisby brawl, thankfully bill cleaned house when he became coach. And no wonder why Coates was released by the pats after the 1999 season and i think he got released for cap reasons. But just think if belichick was coaching this group of players before 2000, ALTHOUGH belichick was NEVER BLEDSOE guy. And it showed during the 2000 season, he wanted to bench bledsoe but could not because of what bledsoe was getting paid.

I attended the Sb that season. I made a deal on the long turbulent flight home that if Pats went back to N.O. 4 a sb we wood go. in 01 it looked bleak until........TB12.
