Drake will be the qb1, but there is no reason to rush him.

I think he will start at least one game this season but won't win the QB! starter for the year. Also, this will depend imo on how much the O'line improves. I think Joe Milton is better suited to move the ball with a bad o'line behind the starters but If i'm being honest, the starters don't look much better than the 2nd and 3rd string. And maybe the only thing helping the 2nd and 3rd string along is new potential speed. So far, in one game, Maye has been used for short passes and mainly running plays. He's had a couple of long downfield throws that weren't very accurate so that is a work in progress as well. Would have liked to have seen him look more comfortable throwing the ball downfield as we've seen with Joe. I think it will come but it might look a bit ugly before it gets better. You see a guy like Bo Nix, whose probably the best rookie so far and to be honest Denver's O'line imo, only appears slightly better than the Patirots. Bo is just making the difference. That to me looks like a legit overall 3rd pick and QB. No offense to Drake, he's younger but until the O'line improves, maybe it's not a bad idea not to have a clear cut QB1 that plays a whole game rather than a rotation at QB. Doing that I think hurt a QB like Mac Jones here when imo, was good enough to be the guy.
