S11 E7 New England Sharks
With Great Whites just off the Outer Cape beaches attracting tourists year after year, Kevin Blinkoff and Chris Megan take a closer look at these apex predators as well as other shark species that swim just off the coast of the Northeast. First, Chris heads south of Martha’s Vineyard to learn shark fishing and safety techniques from Capt. Mike Pierdinock and shark biology from Senior Marine Fisheries Biologist Dr. Greg Skomal. In the second half of the episode, Kevin takes a trip out aboard the OCEARCH research vessel anchored off Chatham. Their mission: capture, tag, and release a Great White shark.

@@cherridytucker9739 he bled out from the shark bite wound to his thigh( femoral artery. ) He was boogie boarding. The water around MA & RI has always been sharkey but climate change/ ocean temp increase and laws to preserve seal populations have led to more seals and more sharks around here in the summer. i grew up swimming here and i still do but im on high alert. But the ocean is their home, & we are just guests.
