I absolutely love your videos, you both are adorable. I´ve been improving my english since the lockdown because last time I learnt the language was at the school and now there is a time to practice conversation with english teacher by Skype and besides I watch your videos, they´re helping me to understand phrasal verbs, phrases and meanings. In Thai language, when we encounter new words, especially from English, Thai people usually say those new words, based on English pronunciation . So words based on English pronunciation are so common in Thai languge. Sometimes when new words are officially coined in Thai, we still feel strange to use them. We turn out to use words based on English pronunciation.

Simone, we are still worried too. Philadelphia, which is a city in the State of Pennsylvania, remains on lockdown. But starting in a few days, many of the more rural areas of Pennsylvania will begin to open up creating a real risk if people don’t follow the rules of social distancing. This is Jay writing back to you. Vicki and I will probably continue some form of isolation and social distancing until there’s a vaccine. Stay safe and be well.

Interestingly, the new expressions now coming with Covid-19 in Portuguese are quite the same you mentioned. For instance, EEP (EPI in Portuguese) was a typical working-world expression and it’s now been used everywhere. The original word ‘lockdown’ is also used in Brazil. Fique em casa! Saúde!

In Russian, the same words have appeared lately: Covid19, social distance, and social distancing, PPE, respirators (lung ventilation system- we had them and the term for them, but it didn't use to be a conversational word while now it is). Prepositions are changing too due to English usages. We used to say "to work home" - in Russian no preposition was used. Now we mostly say (after English speakers) to work FROM home. A new collocation you may have come across on the Internet visolation, or in Russian изоизоляция, it's derived from the Russian word изобразительный visual and isolation.
