It's funny how i was talking to my guild mates saying how this Punishing One screwed us, how many of this updates only did us harm and then CG decides to nail us with Galactic Challenges, which were unfun anyway but this is a whole nother level and if they want to kill their game THEY ARE MAKING ONE HELL OF A JOB

The next GCs will be horrible. One requires Jawas and applying Thermals, and one requiring Tuskens and gaining Momentum. The average players might get the Thermals through Jabba, but the other feats are basically impossible for the majority of players.

The fact is F2P are getting less rewards than they used to from GC. It is frustrating to see all the pay wall quests you achieve but will never get. It just feels bad…

Honestly it's so much worse than just that, light spenders are also being punished by the divide this creates between us and the whales. Everyone who doesn't whale is getting screwed. Even if I buy the pass I will gain a gross advantage over f2p but if I don't buy the new characters (which I have never done) then I lose so much of the rewards and the whales get further out of my reach. It's pure garbage and I think cg has.to address this soon or it will be a major issue with the future of the game. Nails in coffins and what not.

You are not though the math works out that your rewards are the same if not better it’s just most of your “rewards” are now also given from your dailies which gives points to your pass

@@frelorn8289 yeah you have to do everything in galactic challenges and they are making the feats intentionally inaccessible by making them involve buying shards for the new release characters as well as picking teams that most people don't have built at a sufficient level to beat the challenge with. Dude it's pretty clear that the majority of the player base is getting completely dicked around by this new system.

It's really simple people who pay for the pass are getting way more rewards than f2p, 300 kyro on the paid track as opposed to 24. Remember CG said "one thing we wanted to concentrate on was our f2p players" by making it harder to obtain the rewards you were already getting and giving paying players even more of an edge over them. Yeah great update

Add removing ABs to this. So f2p lose rewards they were getting and they don't know if there is any value in investing in future ABs now. When will CG remove these new ABs? They are trying to milk everything they can right now. I am not sure how anyone could see this as a good sign for the game.

As a ftp player who just started a few weeks ago I’m surprised how ftp unfriendly this game is. At every turn there seems to be a paywall. The episode pass rewards are lacklustre on the free track and getting to lvl 85 seems like a predatory move to try and induce spending. I unlock all this stuff but because the grind is so slow I can’t play any of it unless I spend money. Then there’s an expectation to spend months farming characters and ships then they release a lsb for $15 that has things you spent months farming but at relic lvl.

For people who are saying "you can complete the f2p track" you better hope every GC requires teams you have upgraded or else there goes your rewards. Before you could still get a high crate even without those teams being high gear, now? Not gonna happen

I’m not normally a negative person, but this update has really gotten under my skin. The VALUE of anything in this game is made up, they create something and then make up a price for it. I understand I can choose to buy it, but if I don’t now, part of the game is gated from me and I no longer feel like I have the freedom to farm what I want and enjoy the game as I want, I have to farm what they want me to. Getting back to the value, as a Canadian I have to pay 27.99 per month for the “season pass” (aka monthly subscription). For comparison, I pay 7.99 for a Disney+ membership per month. Almost a quarter of what CG is asking. 20$ American might be good “value” for what they charge in game, but it is ridiculous, half to a quarter would be more inline with what a mobile game should be charging. Sorry for the rant Phil, love your content, not happy with CG and a game I love.

Yeah, no. This Episode system is utter garbage. I spent thousands on the game over the years and now I spend now only when it’s something I want to or I think it will help my guild. I feel like this new update is predatory. If I still feel the same way at the end of this first episode, I’m leaving the game. I just messaged my guild leader this morning and he’s in the same boat. We’ll see. After 8 years in the game, this my be the sledgehammer that breaks the camel’s back.

I just started a few weeks ago and this episode system sucks. GC sucks and conquest sucks for new players. The increased speed to 85 feels so predatory to me. You unlock all this stuff but can’t play it. Fomo at its finest. They want me to see what I’m missing out on so I spend money yea no thanks. I’m not buying a $30 pass for shit I can’t access. I can tell you right now they purposely make farming ships and characters insanely tedious to try and sell lsb’s. How is this game 10+ years old and have one drop ships and abysmal drop rates. I’m excited to spend 3-6 months farming ships and characters just for them to release a lsb for the stuff I just spent months farming. Basically if you don’t spend money be prepared to get bent over a railing by Andre the giant.

This is the only game I have seen gut a full game mode to then repute the rewards behind a free pass and try and call it new content. The free pass should been more rewards not replaced rewards, because we need more omicrons and zetas and gear not less, or equal to as f2p

Have never spent and never will, so I would feel silly complaining. However, the obvious greed on their part and the diminished game play only hardens me against spending instead of being a temptation. Remember that it's real money for something that isn't tangible. Only way spending money to advance makes sense is if the game was eternal and permanent.

I almost fell out of my chair laughing when you said "high quality rewards" when talking about the 20 dollar game pass (which is 30 dollars in CAD). First off, the pass is terrible, its WAY over priced by magnitude's, the simple pass should be more like 4.99 & the other one like 9.99. This entire update has been nothing but bald faced GREED & it WILL ruin the game. The reason we can't have nice thing is because of people like yourself that buy these bs packs instead of standing your ground & not spending to send a clear message. I'm all for spending money to support a game, but all of this is bs. It's why everyone is so fkn angry right now. You can't go on reddit, or youtube, or the forums without hitting a wave of hate for what the devs have done to this game. ​@@kronusx3484 no offense but I disagree strongly. this pack is $30 CAD monthly, twice the cost of a MMO sub for a whole month & this is JUST ONE THING they are trying to sell you / make you feel that you need. Then there is the conquest pass, the calendars, the new characters every couple weeks, all the stuff you can't complete unless you have the pass / new characters etc etc etc It's all far too expensive!! I watched multiple people try to get new characters & they all spent like 300-500 per person to unlock EACH character, that is f'n absurd! lol But even if we are just looking at this pass, you are extremely mistaken if you see value here. I see a company trying to squeeze us for $30-$50 per month just for ONE of their monthly passes that they expect you to buy to be competitive. I'm sorry, you seem like you have more money than brains if you think this is a good idea & people like you are exactly why companies continue to abuse their customers.

It’s all just perspective. The daily grinding and farming will bear less fruits but you will still eventually get to your goal. Everyday your roster will still get stronger. No need to panic and spend.

To me, this game has always worked on the concept of "it's a marathon OR a sprint" with FTP being marathon and pay to play being sprint. To me that concept holds exactly true still, its just more in your face now. To me, whatever, ultimately if you pay you go further faster but if you don't want to you'll still be fine.

100% this. One problem is players' mindset, we live in an instant gratification world, this is not that kind of game if you want to be a ftp/low spender. If you choose not to spend a lot, then find your pace and settle in for the marathon. And in the meantime.... Chill folks....

Seems like they removed the reward crate from galactic challenges, ftp have zero incentive anymore since we can no longer get omicrons. It's a major blow to ftp players. If they ever permanently lock a character behind a paywall that's the day I quit for good.

You still get omicron from the rward track and can still buy 3 a week from the new store as long as you play and get the currency that comes out to 16 a month

There"s a lot to complain about, but omicrons aren't it. Everyone will get the same amount, 16. 4 from frp track, 12 from the store. The only reason you'd get less is if you forgot to grab them from the store one week. Whether f2p or p2p, everyone will have more than enough currency to get all the needed omis.

Hi, I’m a recent physics graduate and avid F2P player. I’ve been working on a tool for SWGOH players in the same vein of hotutils that is specifically designed to help players mathematically optimize their mod farming and slicing (basically, it will tell you exactly what you need to do to get the most possible X+ speed mods based on your mod and mod mat income and standards for matching primaries/secondaries). In other words, a mathematical program that gives you literally the best possible mods for your account. RNGesus himself couldn’t improve your haul. After all of these changes, I’m leaning more and more heavily towards making this tool available ONLY to strictly F2P players. It’s not much, but it’s at least one semi-useful thing that tries to level the playing field a little bit. Edit: this would be free, but it would check your account to make sure you haven’t spent any money before letting you use it, and would become unavailable as soon as you spend money in the game.

We're removing those, pay up so you can get the new teams to get rewards now. GAC unfair? I dont think this system is good at all. I think what a lot of people are missing is with some of these tough challenges newer accounts between 4-6 million can chose which feats to focus on. Theres a faction, winning, then 2 extra. Now it is a faction and a feat. In this case with aphra me and a lot of my guild mates either die on the last stage or kill them too quick before removing 400% turnmeter. So if you cant do the faction and the feat you just lose. Before you can at least win and try 1 of the 2 feats and get your 1-2 omicrons and just not care about maxing the crate. Removing just winning the challenge is a major middle finger to f2p and has zero good will and logic. Isnt the point of the challenge to try to beat it, or is it use obscure factions and marquee and give CG money

I don't really get why people are mad about the extra rewards that depend on buying marquee characters. I thought the new marquee system was pretty well-received, and the rewards from that are much more substantial than these new ones. The new rewards just push you along the episode track faster and let you claim some extra currency from the bonus box at the end. It's nothing I'm going to lose sleep over.

@@dampersandYou don’t understand. The new system requires more effort and time. It’s a change for the worse. If there is anything people don’t like it’s having their time wasted. The previous system was perfectly fine and clear. You win a battle get some feats and there you go a crate with rewards. They made this is a chore and nobody likes it. What they should’ve done is keep the crate system we had but remove the rewards and put a store currency in there like they did with the new guild raids. Very simple.

I'm a light spender and I'm not one to get reactively negative about changes or monetization in games. However... After feeling it out and looking at how these challenges have changed, how many of the quests and feats are locked away from even a light spender who purchased the pass... How much of an advantage this gives to that light spender over the ftp folks and then again how much this favors whales over dolphins... They have created a sharp three tier divisional system within the player base. F2p, dolphin, kraken. These groups will not mingle over time, dolphins are never going to stick around in kyber, f2p will be relegated to the pits. It's very discouraging and takes a lot of my enthusiasm away. Overall this has been a very bad change for the game and it will become increasingly evident over the next few months. I was initially excited about the pass and planned to make it a monthly auto but. Now I'm not certain I will even be playing much longer. 😢
