The 806 looks good and sounds pretty good to! They are darn good tractors and we kinda have a soft spot for them. We have 10-806’s between my dad, brother, brother in law, my one son and I.

Congratulations on finding a 806 they were great tractors. The only bad thing I know is once you use either on them they get addicted to it. We had one that even when you stopped for dinner and cam back it wanted a snort to get started. We tried everything but it just wouldn't start without it. Good luck with yours.

Not too shabby for a 60 yr old tractor. A little more TLC ought to have the old 806 ready for duty. The assistance you had made short work of moving the round bales. Hope the Lord grants you suitable weather to complete the corn harvest.

Unloading or loading hay like that would be a good job for the new tractor since it has a loader on it you’ll just have to make a bale spear to help unload the bales off the trailer

Alan, the 806 is going to do just fine, as previous comments I had restored a Cockshutt 570 it's a 1959 diesel, once we got the lines and injectors all cleaned out all we need is a glow plug and it starts fine. I've not had to use any ether since that time. I enjoy watching your videos. Skip, Western PA

Good to see the hay getting put away and progress made on the tractor. I am wondering whether we will have a more normal winter this year or what could possibly be in store for us. It is never dull. Thank you for going to all of the work of doing the videos, I need to catch up. Take Care.

On first big horse on our farm was a 1965 international 806 wheatland bought new January 28 1965, pretty odd tractor to see in dairy country but my grandpa had it optioned out like a row crop. It went away in 1974 when a new shiny 1466 FWA showed up. But we managed to find it last year on a farm in Iowa so it came home after 50 years

@ we kept track of it until the mid 80s when it moved and was done. we had heard story’s of it going to an auction in Iowa and it being bought by a farmer there. We had a general area so we put the word out that we were looking for it and about a week later, we got a call from a guy who believed he had it. Couple farmer fixes grandpa did and the serial number proved that it was our long lost 806. So we quickly bought it and brought it home

Alan you need to put some ATF in the fuel system. It will also help clean the fuel system up and help with the hard starting. With the fuel that we get now the ATF will help a lot on keeping the system clean.

The 806 was the backbone of a lot of a lot of farms in the 60's. Dad and my brother farmed with two of them for over 30 years. I have one from the family farm with a touch over 10K hrs on it. Probably not suggesting anything you don't already know, but we found if you want to start an 806 in cold weather, get a canister block heater and use either. It also helps to have 10W oil in it for the really cold weather. If we still had the straight weight 30W oil in it, left over from field working season, we had to resort to a magnetic oil pan heater. Bottom line is yes they start hard sometimes, but an 806 is a real work-horse... I enjoy your content, keep up the good work!

Hi Alan. You channel was recommended to me by another KZbinr follower. So thought I would check you out and see if it is fit for me. I am an old farm boy from Iowa. I am familiar with Minnesota and know the area you are from. I watched this video today and enjoyed it. That tractor you are getting going was a popular unit in its day. Nice you are getting it going again. Got a good loader on it. Nice of your dad to help load bales and move them to a different location. Great to have that Cat loader and that skid steer. About it for now I guess. You take care and I enjoyed this first video. The Iowa farm boy. Steve. 😊👋🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸

Talk to your fuel supplier about a product for killing algae in your big tank just for maintenance. Once that starts growing in a fuel system it’s a real headache to get rid of. A friend of mine battled it for a year on his 18 wheeler. He spent a lot of money on fuel filters, had to change them every couple of days at first then weekly then halfway through an oil change cycle (15,000 miles) and finally after several months and 70,000+ miles every oil change. So a little preventative maintenance goes a long way in controlling algae in your fuel. Keep the snow not ready for that. Great video god bless .

Hey Alan, the 806 sure sounds good. I have a funny story. Was digging around on Craigslist for a Farmall. All of a sudden an 806 with a loader pops up. Been looking for an 806 for a while. I clicked on the listing and it says post has been deleted. Went back to the listing photo and am looking at the pic and this 806 has yellow rear rims. Then it dawned on me this is the 806 you bought. Glad you got her. Do you still have the old skid steer? Do you still use it? Haven't seen it in a while. Take care.

Allan you are using the worst thing on an engine there is. I had a 706 and my Case 930and both have glow plugs and they start fine. Ether in my opinion should be sprayed in the users mouth and then blown in the air cleaner. My uncle told me that when l grabbed an ether can to start his Cockshutt 40Pd( Perkins Diesel. I used to throw them things out the door.
@trinitydairy
@trinitydairy 21 күн бұрын
If you use it correctly, it doesn't hurt , if it's over used it can be very bad. This engine never had glo plugs or a pretty heater, it came from the factory with an either assist for starting.
