You could just snip out the beginning pages from the homeschool planner and put them in the teacher planner and that will reduce your set-up time for those pages and you’ll have what you want from the homeschool but still have the dated teacher planner. 😊

Yes! Very true! I do like the extra pages that are homeschool specific from the homeschool planner - just wish it were dated!

I have that shiny new toy issue 🤣 But, I really love the classic teacher planner, and am excited about the Evolve design this year. Are you going to mock up the vertical? I can't wait to see if you do! Actually, I am really excited to see how others use the vertical in general. I think a lot of people outside of teachers will really like the layout because it is so big and could potentially hold everything from your life in one giant book!

Thanks so much for sharing all your thoughts on this process! I haven't used a homeschool planner before. I usually design schedule pages for each of my kids and print them out in a notebook for the year. Then I fill them out week by week (my high schoolers fill out their own now so they can practice planning out their work load.) This is my first year to use the EC Life Planner and I'm really enjoying it, so I am leaning toward the homeschool planner, and then possibly getting smaller planners for my high schoolers to try. I don't think filling in the days/dates will bother me as that's what I've been doing on my kids' sheets, and I could try it as vertical or horizontal and see which one fits better for me. Anyway...I can't order quite yet, but I am so appreciative of the time you took to walk through all the options. Thanks again!

The homeschool planner is lovely! I think it is incredibly versatile because it is undated. My oldest (last year of homeschool high school) uses a compact vertical for her planning. She had used the A5 size, because that was the only option, but they came out with the 7x9 this year, and she is going to use that for next year.

@@Townsendhouse1 I never have before, but the vertical layout has me sorely tempted! As for the homeschool planner, I'm in a similar boat as you where I really WANT to use it, but functionality-wise, I really want a dated planner. I appreciated you pointing out that it takes less effort to modify a teacher planner than it does to completely date an undated planner. I hadn't thought of that before, but it made me realize that I've used Schoolnest planners these last few years and while I love the flexibility and almost journal-y vibe, I'm really over filling out undated planners. I had considered buying both the teacher and the homeschool planner and then uncoiling them and recoiling the things I wanted from each, but now I'm reconsidering, mostly because I'm realizing there are only a few things I really want from the HS planner and those can be easily replicated in the graph paper sections. I so appreciate your videos and the way you talk out your process and decisions. I'm definitely a verbal processor, so I appreciate you taking us along for the ride! Also, I really wanted to order the kid's activity book for my youngest to do when we do group writing, but I can't find it on the website. Thank you again for everything you do! You are one of my favorite channels on KZbin!

I couldn't find the kid's activity book this morning either, and I wonder if that is something that was sent early by the team and it is actually for their Back to School launch which is typically July/August. I am going to have to look and see if I can find anymore information about that. It is possible that it just isn't on the website yet - even though today is launch, they don't have a specific time that they say everything is loaded onto the site. So, it is possible it will be on there later in the morning, or this afternoon. They don't shut the entire site down to update it with new products the way Simplified does for their launches. In the grand scheme of things, is dating an undated planner hard? No, not so much, but it is a time commitment, and anything I can do to reduce the amount of time I am doing some of these things, the better in my book 🤣 While I love the homeschool dashboard pages, they aren't really needed for me. All of the lined space that comes in the teacher planners is more than enough for me to do pre-planning/reverse record-keeping/taking notes on where I want to make adjustments, I just don't need that. I REALLY love the reading logs, and attendance tracker, but I have converted the communication log and graph paper into reading logs for my 3 kids for years, so I don't really need it. And I made my own attendance tracker years ago that I stick in the clear plastic folder in the back, so no issues there. Can't wait to hear what you decide on!

@@Townsendhouse1 I ended up getting the teacher planner! I added the extra curricular pages to the end because I think those will be great for planning unit studies or tracking outside classes. I also went with the rose-gold coil because I’m kind of a sucker for it! I’ll keep an eye out for the activity book. There were a few things that I wanted but decided to wait for a future order when EC is having a sale. I wanted to make sure I got the planner today because of the 15% off and I had another discount code that it let me stack, so I wanted to take advantage of the double savings!

Yesss. Why can’t those boxes start in July instead of January. I’m so glad those that wanted vertical got it, and that’s what I ordered, but I can’t believe they didn’t fix the boxes that start in January! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

I keep going back and for the between Evolve and Bold Blooms. Bold Blooms is gorgeous - but they didn’t put the design everywhere they did in the Evolve teacher planner (like the monthly box spread, or the pages right before the monthly spread. I was disappointed to see that.

You are right! I didn't notice that! I really love the Evolve this year. A couple of years ago I did the wildflowers design, and really liked the simplicity of it (may not have been called wildflowers - but their floral design). I think it was the same year they had that harmony colorful/neutral design which I did NOT like at all.

Don't think the vertical is useful for regular school teachers either, at least for elementary. The space is crucial.

I'm really interested to see how people choose to use the planner. Honestly, I think it would make a great giant life planner - with so much room for all of your life tasks.
