I saw them here in the UK in the 80s after they reunited and then a few years later. They were amazing, what voices. I had them autograph an LP for me. I was only a teenager. My house was damaged in a storm and my record collection ruined by rain. One of the only parts of the record cover left was the part they signed. Ive got it being restored.

I spent my teenage years listening to and loving the Everly Brothers! They did not record one bad song, all were hits in my opinion, and I think it was due to the beautiful blending of their voices, which still can't be beat. Thank you, Jordan, for sharing this look into their home town and the information about their lives, much of which I did not know. Well done!! I love your channel and look forward to where we are going next.

This vlog was awesome! ❤ I love the Everly Brothers. As a kid I listened to a lot of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Patsy Cline and of coarse Elvis. My Dad was a mega fan! 😂 Growing up in the 70's and early 80's music was so diverse and rich. While in the car with my Dad on vacation as a pre-teen The Everly Brothers were one of the bands my Dad and I could agree on. I trade him of so he'd let me listen to David Cassidy or Donny Osmond! 😂😂😂 As an adult I did the same with my kids. I wanted to listen to an 80's hair band (Poison or Bon Jovi) and my kids wanted to listen to Shaggy, Poppa Roach or Uncle Cracker. 😂 We always found a happy medium. I had one who loved Shania Twain and one who loved Cher. So we made it work. Thank God we all agreed on Eminem! 😂 Lot's of joyous memories of family vacations and car rides! ❤❤❤

Not knowing the Everly Brothers first names until now, I found it interesting that you showed the quote Paul McCartney wrote and it made me think. I was sure I’d heard a song before with the lyrics “Phil & Don” 🎶 Sure enough after a short Google search, it was actually Paul McCartney & Wings. The song is “Let ‘Em In”. Just a fun fact in case you or others didn’t know 😊
@johndavis39215 ай бұрын
I understood the break-up was triggered by musical direction. Don wanted to update their sound, be contemporary, and try the new sounds in Rock examples are Acid, Hard, Folk, and ECT. Phil Refused. Phil despised the direction Rock "n" Roll was evolving. Don was patient with Phil. They kept playing the old hits until Don couldn't take it anymore. As you mentioned, He snapped during a performance in 1973.

Those statues are terrible, they look nothing like our boys, I'm sorry to say, and Phil is not actually there in the cemetery, it's only a memorial plaque, they did not get back together at their dads funeral, it was 9 years later, think this whole video needs redoing, truthfully
@stuartb36093 ай бұрын
Not saying it’s the case here, but I read that when the Beach Boys memorial was dedicated in Hawthorne California, the likenesses of the members was licensed so the images on the plaque did not look like the group members at all. Ridiculous and sad at the same time that exceptions could not be made for these official memorials.
