Really great to see the barrel cladding coming on. As you say the paving should come together quite quickly on the east side and I assume once the west catches up the majority of the external work will be complete. It's gonna be an amazing place and I look forward to catching further developments over the next few weeks. Im glad i'm not the only Ipswich fan enjoying the prospect of coming here AND saying a final farewell to Goodison. Well done Nick for correcting yourself on us BOTH staying up next season. Ive got two extremely close pals who are die hard Evertonians and the club will also have a special feeling for me and as Im a stadium nutter too it's been exciting to watch this. When Portman road starts it's redevelopment in the coming years you'll have to visit and return the complement. Bazza

Hi mate, It was me who made the comment about the dents in the roof. It won't let me add a link but if you go to SS Skies update on the 17th and go to 2:24 You can see them all over the last set of panels they put in. I'm not sure if you can only see them in certain lighting or if they've been replaced since 👍🏻

rosse: I THINK you'll find that it's actually an optical illusion. There were some areas near the eastern edge of the roof in this video but as the camera moved slightly or even stayed still the areas 'rolled'. It may well depend on the pixellation and the reflection points. Before assuming damage it might be better to wait for different angled shots of the supposed damaged area.

Hello Nick , regarding the dinges in the roof another subscriber has remarked on yes they are definitely there . They’re also present on the south roof but now covered over by the solar panel fixings . The sheet metal which is very thin should be laid in front of the person fixing . Working backwards then laying timber between the standing seams to protect the integrity . I watched the men laying those panels and they were walking along the sheet metal between the standing seams . It’s not strong enough to resist that kind of weight and that’s why the roof is covered in dinges. It’s disgraceful that they’ve allowed that to happen and shows very clearly when the sun is shining in a certain direction .

Blueplum: I'm not sure about this point. I DO agree that there appear to be areas of dents at certain angles and certain lights but I also noticed that the areas 'rolled', which implies that it's an optical illusion in the combination of your/our screens, the camera and the different lights and angles. This is not definitive and merely my opinion but I would like to see views at different angles and light before forming a more certain opinion.

Hey Nick , as I previously suggested regarding you being given access to film the stadium internally, I'm pleased you have been given that opportunity . Here's a question you may like to ask in the Q & A session ....." What is the likelihood that the stadium capacity could be increased in the future & how easy would it be structurally to accomplish that.?

Hi Nick. Perhaps when you have your well deserved tour of the stadium, you could ask Laing O’Rourke if there were any unforeseen difficulties that arrived during their build, that perhaps hadn’t made it into the public domain? I’m sure it hasn’t all been plain sailing for them. The stadium looks immense!

Hi Nick. Once the stadium build is finished and the test events start (hopefully at the turn of the year) could the club live stream games from Goodison to Bramley Moore Dock? This would kill several birds with one stone; allowing a gradual increase of test capacity, give fans the chance to see the new stadium, enable a combined attendance of up to 90,000 with associated revenue generation and give more fans the opportunity to participate in those final 9 homes games before we finally leave Goodison. (Incidentally, in light of anticipated demand, we could perhaps also do the reverse for the first few games of 25/26 season). Jonathan

Yeah, good idea this (Ped and Baz discussed it on Toffee TV recently). The last game ever at Goodison (v Southampton) should be broadcast to fans on the two large screens inside BMD and the main fan zone plaza. Amazon Prime, TNT or Sky Sports (whichever channel is broadcasting the game) could show live clips from the new ground during the match.

I commented on this on the south stand roof and said I’d make the contractor replace . I think they’re using inexperienced labour possibly who knows . What tradesman would continue to walk between the panels knowing he’s already caused damage . If you bought a car and it was dinged you’d return it. Absolutely no need to damage those panels . Maybe there are a few reds on the roof . Either way the panels are damaged I’ve seen it now on two elevations

David: yes, the mini-pitch has been removed. Yes, they were digging in some piping along the western perimeter. However, that's probably not directly for the pitch but the services along the perimeter. Look closely at the South Stand pitch end and you will see that they have uncovered the old dock wall Granite Coping Stones, which will be under the pitch side-track, not part of the pitch area.

Nick, there didn't seem much content here on new BMD-build-specific developments PoI's or Q's and whilst I fully understand what your intentions are, out of the 12 questions, only two were BMD-build-specific and not previously answered by your previous videos or replies in the comments. If you want me to expand on that, I will willingly discuss it privately, so as not to create a negative outlook. Some PoI's that can be seen clearly in this video and might have warranted discussion (perhaps you can try to focus on some in this evening's Wirral Flight?): 1) The progress on the tree pits at the ENE of the stadium. 2) The installation of the two-tiered concrete base of the future blue-tiled bench that sticks out from the stadium at the first full-height brick facade northwards from the SE corner. 3) The tree pits being installed along the SSE concourse. 4) The removal of the scaffolding around the north, small Gate-Tower at the Southern Regent Road Tower Gates. 5) The SSW concourse activity, where trenches have been dug and a wet-concrete lorry is next to them. 6) The near completion of the paneling on the southern end of the mezzanine. 7) The completion of the laying of the Coping Stones on the southern West Terracing side-wall. 8) Further concreting of the water channel bed next to the Seacant Wall. 9) Installation of the Dug-outs' seating. 10) Installation of seating in the Away Fans (NE Corner, Lower Tier) section. 11) Laying of pipework along the West Stand pitch-side. 12) The Granite Coping Stones of the Old Dock Wall along the South Stand pitch-side.

Hi David, what I try to do is address people’s questions and comments. I’ve always said that these do not always need to be construction/build specific but can be anything. Not everyone on my channel or KZbin in general are as clued up on construction as yourself and some others. That includes me by the way (as you know) and I’ve never tried to claim I’m an expert at all. So, for me, it’s about updates that I feel the majority can relate to and engaging with as many people as possible. Somebody, like yourself, might be good enough to teach me what purlings are and why they are used yet another person might ask me what I had for tea last night 😂 On saying that, I also do really appreciate your help, assistance and knowledge on the project too throughout my entire time at this site. I’ve used a lot of the information and brought a lot of very informative videos on the project too and will continue to do so. Sometimes it’s nice to be a little more relaxed on it. 👍🏻

@@misterdroneuk Yes, Nick, as I said, I DO understand your intentions and every droner will have a different approach as well. You may have missed my point and I hasten to add that you can kill the idea that I am complaining about the absence of any of my input in recent times. My comment here and observation was a service/opportunity for you to reflect, that's all. I did NOT state that it should all be about the build, just that there was an imbalance and I am perfectly aware that not everyone wants a technical insight (I'm really disappointed if you think that my input or desire is only to be specific about purlins or whatever other technical term as I'd like to think I have always tried to commonise terms and explain things in layman's terms as much as possible). I get it but, again, that's nowhere near my point at all. Aside from that It IS like a stuck record for me to state that you often highlight questions that have already been answered. You have a memory like a goldfish and the annoying habit of picking up a question to highlight without reading the replies to them. The Solar Array question here was answered quickly by "Dunc the Blue" before I saw it and certainly well before you'd have prepared for this video. Dunc answered it perfectly well so it did not require my input. You did a disservice to Dunc mainly, as others may have thought that neither he or I had responded to the specific request. The question about the fencing along the Nelson Dock was highlighted in one of YOUR videos with YOUR commentary about it as a result of one of my observations early this year. That was not news and instead of you wasting time on your video theorising about what was meant, a) you should have known to what was referred (and it was even covered in the official EFC video this week) and b) you could easily have dropped me a line to ask about it so that you COULD answer the question quickly and directly, so providing a better-informed 'service' to your subscribers and improving your time-usage. I stress the point: it's not about me but about how you can very easily improve the delivery. The question about the East Stand "Premium" seating should have raised questions in your own mind, which you could have cross-checked. There are no special or "premium" seats in the East Stand. You should know this. There ARE 3 different categories of seating in the West Stand. In the East Stand there is an area of seating that is sectioned off for those using the Hospitality Lounges and you have focused on this area before, where everyone remarked about the seats going across the aisles about halfway up the East Stand Lower Tier with the sides of the section being a 'vertical' line created with a gap between the seats in the middle of the seating sections to the directly north-side of the Accessibility Platform halfway up the Lower Tier and then one section further south from the south-end of the Accessibility Platform. Anyway, it is what it is. I was going to keep these comments private but you chose to respond publicly. You have your ways but please be open to suggestions or comments intended to be friendly advice and with the intention of helping you induce improvements on delivery. Best wishes.

Brilliant video as always Nick. You are so patient and understanding with all the questions and comments some of which are a bit daft on occasion. I'll throw this question out to you or anyone who may have an understanding. All the barrel cladding panels are perforated right? Did Laing-O'Rourke employ acoustic engineers to determine what noise may be generated through them when those gales blow in from the Irish Sea? Speaking of daft comments, I hope they're tuned to play "On the Banks of The Royal Blue Mersey".

Hi Nick. Thanks for the brilliant fly around of Bramley Moore. During the fly around there was a shot of what will, eventually, become the pitch. Would you know if the mounds of earth that were visible was the start of laying the playing area? Now the cranes have gone it does look like they are making inroads to laying the new pitch. Can I just add to the comments of everyone else about the great loss of Kevin Campbell. Alfie: it's quite the opposite. They will first be digging out the pitch area to remove the hardcore and lightly cemented sand that was inserted to withstand the weight of the heavy equipment during the previous construction phases. There will also then need to be installation of several layers which will include the water pipes, dirty-water removal, a plastic under-grid (like you have witnessed for the tree pits), sand, under-soil heating, pitch soil, grass and plastic sowing.

Maybe they've sub-contracted the work out and got some inexperienced (trying to be kind here...) personnel to complete the work. Hi Nick, on the west stand above the brick cladding there's glass and more cladding all the way along flushed with the roof cladding BUT on the east stand above the brick cladding the glass and cladding only cover most of middle that is flushed with barrel, it just cuts off on the corners Any reason why as I thought it looks better on west stand, if east stand was the same then it would be the same all around
@davidbadcock2225
@davidbadcock2225 7 күн бұрын
Matthew: it's to do with the fact that Dan Meis was determined that each stand was different to create the impression of old stadium generic growth structures and not an antiseptic, sterile perfectly symmetrical, off-the-shelf dumped bowl. So, the structures you are referring to are called Mansard Rooves and they house the Main Hospitality Lounges. The West Stand is the main stand and houses large numbers of lounges, bars and satellite kitchens. The East Stand basically has the one main hospitality area and so has less need of the Mansards.

On the theme of lucrative music concerts, the chances are that BMD will host some as soon as the test events are complete. This means boarding over the pitch (like they've done at Anfield) will destroy the grass so is it really worth installing any until nearer the start of season 25-26?

Hi Nick, great video again. When you visit Laing O'rourke and get the chance to ask some questions about the stadium build, perhaps you could ask them when the roofer performed River dance over the east and south stand roofs? Surely Everton won't accept this? Not sure they can sort the south stand roof at this late stage though.

Glenn: I am not sure about this point. This i an opinion. I DO agree it appears that there are dented areas in this video at the northern end of the east roof but those areas actually 'roll' and move. I think it's an optical illusion created by the pixellation refresh rate in the combination of the camera and our screens. If that area is looked at different angles and light, they seem to disappear. I'm withholding judgement for more evidence.

@@davidbadcock2225 Hi David, I do hope that is the case. It would be a terrible shame if the roof is dented. Perhaps Nick can do some really close up shots on his weekly fly round? I did think it would be silly to make the roof so thin that a normal size person can't walk on it. Hopefully they factored this in and it's a trick of the light.

@@glennblundell976 Glenn: yes, I'd agree with your comment. In my opinion I think the Project Engineers and LoR have displayed such extraordinary levels of competence , planning and foresight over the three years that it's hard to imagine (never say never, mind) that IF the material was prone to damage, that they'd allow contractors to stomp wherever without protection. It doesn't bear logic. A clue as to the likelihood of damage by people walking on it at the two ends of the spectrum is that on the one hand they have provided Man-safe, wire-rope fixings for future maintenance staff to 'roam' and on the other hand they have installed hardier raised walkways for regular routes. You'd think that the Roofing Contractors should know what the level of weight and traffic is suitable, especially if they fit this material on other rooves.

Are any of the usual oracles able to answer the following?: We hear constantly about how close to the pitch the fans will be and the intimidating atmosphere that will create. Hope so. But I am currently watching, like many others, the Euros in Germany and every stadium I've seen so far has a "wall" around the perimeter of the pitch and the closest seats start quite high up. Will this mean that when BMD is used for the Euros, the first so many rows will be covered (as per many PL grounds in Euro competition) and if so what will be the impact on max attendance numbers?
@DuncTheBlue1878
@DuncTheBlue1878 5 күн бұрын
As far as I’m aware, all seats will be available at BMD during Euro 28. The pitch side ‘wall’ and elevated front row in Germany’s new stadiums complies with German FA rules (which also includes the fences), but isn’t a requirement of UEFA Euro competitions.

Hi Nick, does the South stand stick out more than the North stand, or is it an illusion because of the ground level building?

darren: I can't be sure as to the exact meaning of your question but the South Stand is much bigger than the North and the steels are therefore also on a different gradient/ angle of rake.
@topcatcoolio8807
@topcatcoolio8807 6 күн бұрын
Hi Darren. What it is , is the building opp the North stand could have possibly complained, (or in design) of losing light. Due to the over hang here. So they built this straight plumb. But the south stand as you say, see, is at an angle , which holds more
@davidbadcock2225
@davidbadcock2225 6 күн бұрын
@@topcatcoolio8807 Top Cat: Sorry to argue the point with you but it has nothing to do with loss of light etc. The stadium is pushed up close to the north perimeter, on purpose, in order to maximise the area for the South Stand. As a result the cantilevered structures' steels go down through the old quays to the bedrock at different angles and they have different torques and forces. (As an aside opinion, United Utilities wouldn't be bothered about loss of light over their waste-water plant, which is mostly covered by roofing, especially as the first stretch is just concreted 'space').

@@davidbadcock2225 It's OK. Just my colleague has been there and asked the same question. That was the answer. I know there is a Law of tort. Which you can't trespass light on on an adjacent property. And this does stop light over the offices adjacent. The weight is equal all around the stadia. Look closer ..there is office windows.. This does reduce attendances too.

Would it be better for the away supporters getting there and better transport ?
@DuncTheBlue1878

It’s nearer the city centre and the club, Liverpool City Council and Sefton Council say they’re ’working together to improve transport links to the stadium’ which also includes upgrading Sandhills train station. Time will tell, I suppose.

Graham: Yes, Dan Meis wanted to make sure that it's an interesting stadium to look at and intentionally all the stands are different. It's to create the impression of an organic-growth stadium, rather than a perfectly symmetrical, sterile, off-the-shelf drop-in of a perfect bowl.

@@davidbadcock2225 Well, that's one very flowery and barely credible explanation, but I suspect the available dimensions of the site are the real answer. They should have used both the Bramley Moore Dock and the dock to the south of it. It would also have increased the gap between the north end of the stadium and the waste water treatment plant (sewage works) just to the north, currently only separated by the width of a road.
@davidbadcock2225
@davidbadcock2225 6 күн бұрын
@@grahamcook9289 Graham: 🌻😆. Well, that's what Dan Meis stated, so I'm merely quoting it, not verbatim, obviously. The different axes layouts of the stadium were looked at in the designs in the planning presentations, with the N-S axis decided to be preferred for benefits over the disadvantages. Your view is different, which is absolutely fine. We can agree that it would have been brilliant IF the site had been much larger (we can all dream) but the financial consequences would probably have sent the club into administration by now, even IF PEEL had been tempted to forego the profit opportunities of their dirt-cheap Liverpool Waters estate.

Apologies if this has been asked and answered before Nick. On the barrell cladding on the East Stand, there are what appear to be diamond shaped gaps or 'cutouts' either side of the unfinished gap. There are three to the left as we look and two to the right (so far, but less of the cladding has been done that side). They are halfway down the barrell. The same appears on the West Stand. Do you know if these are these functional in any way or purely aesthetic? Also, if Ipswich become the latest team to get relegated after one season in PL lets hope we don't play them at BMD the following season unless it's in the cup. No offence to the Ipswich fan...
