Its not the rich, the rich and businesses get tax breaks and cuts, immigrants are living off of taxes, and the taxes are paid and increasing for the middle-low income civilians. (Middle income is poor in the Netherlands now.)

Yess I totally recognize this, Dutch (mainly entrepreneurs) try to bring savings abroad, invest in UAE or other attractive countries outside Europe! As tax rules become insanely strict, the best thing to do is to emigrate 100% to a place where you wont be punished with 50% income tax + 21% consuming taxes 😝. The sooner you have a plan to leave, the better

Remember that we are pushed into countries that are not democratic. It will be easy for them to take all your rights when the time comes. Ultimately, it's the law that gives you freedom or not. I've lived in the UAE for 10 years, but I wouldn't go back there for that reason. Stay in your country and challenge the system.

You forgot what happened in 2020-21? Also in Canada banks accoumts were frozen due to protests. In UK people are being jailed for saying the wrong things. Etc. So all governments, democratic and undemocratic (including uae), can take your freedoms and democratic ones don’t necessarily have a better track record than Uae/Singapore etc.

The exit tax proposal seems unlikely in the near future. The government is already grappling with the fallout from the Box 3 ruling and the need for compensation. Opening another complex and potentially controversial tax debate, especially one that could discourage wealthy individuals and businesses, seems like a low priority at this time. Needless to say that left wing members of parlement ask often but silly things.

@have_you_no_empathy_mon No Wilders is not going to change anything. He has already drastically changed his views to win votes. He has abandoned his supporters and finds it more important to win the elections than to make structural positive changes for the average Dutch person. They made Schoof prime minister without anybody voting for that guy. There is only 1 party in NL that really want to change anything for the good and thats FvD and they will never become the biggest. As long as NL is still part of the EU no big changes can be made for the good. 85% of the laws and rules are coming from the EU.

UAE is not a good decision if you are an openly gay person. Additionally, I'd like to share my perspective on the Netherlands. Over the past year, I’ve noticed a significant shift in attitudes toward migrants. Personally, I’ve faced delays and indifference from the IND-being told to "wait your turn and for your documents, because we’re busy." By law, I was supposed to receive my residence permit by May 1st this year. It’s now December, and I’ve filed more than six legal complaints against this misconduct, yet I’m still stuck waiting for the rules of this country to be enforced. I feel that after ASML's global drama, the Netherlands seems to be pressuring other companies and entrepreneurs. This isn’t a good trend, and it’s now manifesting in stricter laws and an increasingly far-right political climate.
@yassinazarkan420715 күн бұрын
if openly gay means doing public displays of affection then yes the UAE is not a good decision
@johanvandenbosch32246 күн бұрын
Oh, please. Spare us the victim narrative. The world doesn’t owe you special treatment just because you’re gay or an immigrant. Newsflash: every country has its rules, and guess what? You don’t get to cherry-pick which laws apply to you. As for the Netherlands, it’s laughable that you’re blaming an entire country for your impatience. Delays happen. Systems get overwhelmed. Welcome to reality. Filing six legal complaints because you didn’t get your paperwork fast enough? Sounds less like standing up for your rights and more like throwing a tantrum because you’re not getting your way. The IND isn’t your personal concierge service-they’re dealing with thousands of cases, not just yours. And let’s be real, you probably spent a fortune on lawyers for those six cases, expecting others to foot the bill for your entitlement. No wonder nobody’s lining up to share in your misery.
