Correct, but FYI, the Extar does _not_ require lube. Yes, you read that correctly. The manufacturer recommends against using it anywhere but maybe a tiny bit on the BCG. The polymer they use is self-lubricating and any oil will actually seize up function. Alternately, they say you can use a "dry" lubricant sparingly, but it's really not necessary. What is most important is keeping it clean.

My only qualm he men&Zion’s. If you buy the 33rnd Glock mags it’s hard to get them in if the bolt is closed. I bought some sgm 32 or 34 rnd mags that were 15 each compared to the 40 bucks for the Glock mags on the Extar website and those are absolutely flawless. The actual glock mags can be a little tight

Something to remember is that while Extar has been in the firearms business successfully for quite some time, they have been at the leading edge of polymer technology for even longer. The polymer they use is their manufacturing is 3 bars above what any other firearms manufacturer is putting out. Quite literally the only company I trust with full polymer PCC's.

@nickwhite2569Ай бұрын
@Bobdixon_Moonvarga_Dancer_III in my personal experience, Kel Tec is like the little brother of Extar that wants to be just as cool. Extar has them beat in quality of polymer, customer service, QC, and price. (Extar sells directly from their website, not to dealers)
@TG-cp2mn22 күн бұрын
How do you know that?
@nickwhite256922 күн бұрын
@@TG-cp2mn I've taken a tour of Extar in Arizona and had a chance to speak with the founder. He's a master in injection molding and was at the forefront of polymer injection molding before he finally came into the firearms game and introduced the first 100% polymer rifle receiver set. These guys know what they're doing.
@nickwhite256922 күн бұрын
@Bobdixon_Moonvarga_Dancer_III me, personally, I feel as if Kel Tec has extremely interesting concepts and fantastic range toys. But the quality control leaves a bit to be desired. It's also the attention to detail in the design of the injection molded parts that makes Extar stand out. The receivers and handguards are molded as one solid piece whereas Kel Tec and most other companies take the "bolt two halfs together with about 30 screws" approach.

Not to take away from him (because he has improved _immensely_ in a really short period of time), but the Extar is the most accurate 9mm PCC that I own (Stribog, Scorpion, even an MP5 clone - though I would be hesitant to compare it to those for durability or reliability... but time will tell). Love my Extar EP9! Got mine a few weeks ago. Kitted it out with a Sig Sauer MSR red dot, weapon light, mlok fore grip and “25” round Glock mag. So far the gun has been amazing and will be replacing my AR-15 as my home defense weapon. Full disclosure I had 2 malfunctions my first time shooting it, both in the first 2 mags I fired. One failure to eject then one miss feed. After that it performed flawlessly. A second trip to the range I put about 150 rounds through it and not one issue at all. Hoping this trend continues!
@mikecamdawgАй бұрын
I've had one of these for a few months (I think it's the same one as the one you're shooting in this video - the newest version with the 6.5" barrel, comes with the same flash can that I replaced, SBA3 brace). It's the most fun gun I own. I've put probably 1500 rounds through mine without a single failure - multiple makers and sized Glock compatible mags and multiple brands/weights of 9mm (including lots of LAX/Freedom remans). I have those same 147gr Federal flat-nosed that Bubba experienced a stoppage with; I've run 500 rounds of that through mine without an issue. I did clean and lube mine when I got it from Extar before taking it out the first time though. Everyone who has seen/shot mine think it's a blast! I originally found out about them by watching your PCC videos when looking for a better option for a 9mm PCC (I had gone through a few others that I didn't really like). I had a Hi-point 9mm carbine and really liked how it shot and felt, but I didn't like the 10 round mag capacity and the Redball mags were never reliable for me. I tried a Ruger PC Carbine multiple times and always had reliability issues and just didn't like the size of it (especially as a potential home defense gun for my wife). I had a JRC carbine and liked it but the size was also too big for my wife to enjoy shooting it and it had a lot of odd reliability issues (and was really picky on mags). I tried a Keltec Sub2k, and just did NOT like that gun at all. I was skeptical about the Extar being polymer (especially when I took it out of the box at my FFLs when I picked it up), but the first time I shot it, I knew your advice was spot on - so thanks!!!

The absolute pedigree of CZ makes it trump all PCCs in its price range and below. Hello Chris and the Mrs Outlaw, Extar owner here. I have the newest iteration of the EP9 (I think), what I know is that it's pretty much identical to yours functionally. Anyways, I've had mine for a few months and am up to about 600 rounds with no faults save for a couple ammo issues that weren't the gun's fault (click no bangs). I have also tried the Federal 147gr flatnoses, ran 2 boxes and didn't have any problems. I'd mostly been using the Extar brand magazines because the 5 pack was a good deal. They seem to work well enough. As far as the magazines sticking goes, I haven't had that issue but I do have a theory. I have this ridiculous AR45 project I still have yet to refine but a recurring issue I had was that the G21 mags it used would bind up really bad when they were loaded, but fit fine if empty. What you might be dealing with is the magazines starting to bulge out when loaded because they're made of polymer. Your newer ones likely haven't started to do it yet. Something I can however put into words for you is the description of the recoil impulse. It's a rolling push that feels like it's trying REALLY hard to emulate the feel of an MP5. I've tried suppressing it with a 9mm can (PWS BDE9) and it was so nasty that I could barely shoot it. I tried a friend's F1 Maglite can he bored for 45 and it was MUCH better. Anyways, fantastic gun, been utterly dependable for me, and it's probably the only PCC actually worth recommending because it has a justifiable price tag

He’ll, I just ordered the 4 mag bundle with the case. And they give you an extra mag free right now with the code for subscribing to them. So $560 total shipped to palmetto state armory. Than the $25 transfer fee so under 600 total I reckon this is good.

I been eyeing it for a few months , saw your review and didn't watch it until I went and ordered it lol , I figured they will all be sold out after you tell everyone how great they are 🤣🤣

This looks like the Gen2 and it's been out for a few years now... I've got 4-5k through mine and have had zero issues. According to the paperwork and others, you're not supposed to lube it.. I haven't in the last 2 years. I have a GHM9 and I actually prefer the Extar over it tbh.. So much so that I got a couple coworkers to buy extars, one got the EP45 and that one is just as fun. I got the extar because of your original video on it back in 2022 and have zero regrets on it. Fucking love it. I want the 45 and the carbine as well.. hopefully they make an EP10, I'd snatch that up quick.

Left eye dominant righty here. I also have had cataracts and surgery (one at a time) so now I have two eyes with really different prescriptions. I shoot pistol right handed but haven’t tried a rifle yet. New to shooting. Cool to know I’m not alone in hand eye differences. I’m also a 6’3 redhead with big paws so I pay attention to Outlaw’s grip recommendations. Love the channel!

Yep-my left eye is dominant, and I have astigmatism in my Right eye. I fire pistols right and rifles left. I had to fire my M16 lefty in the army even though I wanted to carry it right-handed.

I have the gen 1, and my daughter said the same thing Mrs. Outlaw said. (this gun is mine now) I give her a fun stick, and she shoots the center out of the target. I'd like to see them release the 10mm they were working on.

I have a gen 1 EP9 and I love it. The ONLY issue I've ever had with it is trying to use cheaper knock-off 33-round "Glock" mags from Korea. Those things had the same issue of getting stuck in the mag well. I bought some actual Glock brand ones, and those work flawlessly. Tossed the Korean ones in a drawer in case I ever get some other weapon that can use 'em. With actual Glock brand mags, I've never had a single failure to feed or fire, or inserting/removing the mag.

Mrs Outlaw I’m also left eye dominant and right handed. My right eye goes off in its own adventures at times and I’ve found over time I’m much more accurate with rifles shooting lefty.
