Alpha legions codex. It is actually a solid weighted brick disguised as a codex. You win with the faction if you knock your opponent out before the match. Exactly as it should be. So say I Alpharius.

I was expecting Agents of the Imperium because they've had so many models in kill teams and the like recently, but White Dwarf this month dropped a random article detailing inquisitorial reports on what they thought Vashtorr was up to.

​@@sonicwingnutreminder that grey knights and sisters of battle used to be ordo malleus and hereticus codexes, you could even field a radical inquisitor which would prohibit you from using their chamber militant. Over time the inquisition side got completely replaced by the GK/SoB but I wouldn't be surprised to see the inquisition/agents of the imperium get their own codex again with inquisitorial stormtroopers and the like being back in the action. Maybe some new daemonhost models could accompany this ?

Don't forget Lucius. Lucius will 100% get a new plastic model with the Emperor's Children launch. Also, for the lolz, they should bring back Doom Rider, which would also serve as a teaser for new Chaos bikes... I would also add, that I'd potentially be more upset with the lack of an Emperor's Children melee unit, than the fact World Eaters still don't have proper Red Butchers in 40k. Sword dueling is still an integral part of the legion... to not have some kind of sword wielding unit on the tabletop would be a travesty, so either the Palatine Blades or Phoenix Guard Terminators need a 40k equivalent. Legionaries with an upgrade sprue that includes a few EC Falchions just wouldn't cut it.

On the coop game front, Poorhammer recently released a “Horde Mode” for 40k. It looks super cool. The idea being that you and your friends bring small, 500ish point armies, and try to hold off the advancing horde, while trying to accomplish your own secret agenda in order to win the game.

They announced Emperor's Children units for 30k, and of course snake-boy was released as a model, so it's inevitable that it will drop. My theory about the "classified" book is that it's an existing faction, but with something new, or perhaps a new unit on the cover that would be too spoilery. Perhaps Votann getting more units? A man can dream.

I use a mix of Siraya Tech Fast and Tenacious resin for my models at 90 Fast: 10 Tenacious and sometimes more if I need more flex. It stops all the pointy bits and swords from breaking and actually gives them some bend.

Multi-part plastic Transformers minis for a skirmish style war/ strategy game would be chef's kiss. Have the senerios structured like watching a 30 minute episode of the show. The '80s and '90s are a goldmine for IPs, especially since those fans are at the age to have disposable income.

The fun of painting those Dredd models is really my mentality with the old sculpts for the old world. I'm looking forward to the simplicity and style that paint up really easy with exaggerated features and not so many fiddly bits.

I preordered the tomb king box, i hope i can magnetize the saddle on top of the dragon to make him game agnostic. Other than that, i think the skelettons are cartoonish but as you said the paintjob is also the reason why. I plan to paint them with a white zenithal and a black reverse zenithal then a dose of sepia ink. It will make them quick, easy and very contrasty. I think it will tone down the cartoon aspect and give a better definition of each bone.

The counter to this, of course, is that releasing two Imperial books, back to back, when they seem to be alternating Imperium/Chaos/Xenos, would be a little odd. If it's not Emperor's Children OR Agents of the Imperium... I could maybe see something like Lost and the Damned, which we'll probably know for certain once the CSM book releases (i.e., if Beastmen and traitor guard are absent from Codex CSM).

As far as 3d printed stuff, look into siraya tech's specialty resins, they have several that take some growing pains to print reliably with but are anywhere from impact resistant to fully rubbery, haven't had any issues with dropping models and breaking them even with multi piece prints

Halo is literally the reason I play games. Any games. First Person Shooters, RPGs, Strategy- And that includes tabletop miniature games. When I decided I wanted to start playing 40k my very next thought was- "It would be cool if there was a tabletop miniatures Halo game" only to find out there was one that flopped *miserably* I am literally the most excited for tabletop news that I have ever been. You mean you guys aren't using your Soundwave toys as a Noise Marine Dreadnought proxy? Also I think that new army is probably going to be a form of Beastmen or Beast Handlers. Not sure if they're autonomous yet. But they'll have different animal varieties that strangely similar to Terran wildlife, but humanoid and different enough to be unique and alien. Terminators like rhinos or elephants, close combat crocodiles, goat sniper infiltrators et cetera.

The new faction that can push most demand is not Emperor's Children but rather Exodites. Dinosaurs in space will sell, and elves on them are just a bonus.

I had a big pile of reaper bones goblins and decided to paint them all together and I ended up making an OPR army that is 99% Reaper Bones. I highly recommend it. It's so much fun to paint those simple, flexible models

There definitely is a niche for Old World, but the question is whether A) the niche market is big enough, and B) if they can support it at sufficiently. The WHF ruleset is big and complex by today's standards, and the minimum spend and minimum effort to a satisfying table is much higher than 40k or AOS. This will probably translate to OW being a far lower sales segment, and with them already struggling to keep up production of 40K against exploding demand, I suspect this will mean support for OW will be lackluster at best.

On single cast, I absolutely agree - a few years ago, I got completely burnt out when I tried painting really detailed minis for a new skirmish game (actually resorted to a commission painter for the 1st time), stopped painting completely. Then a few months later I got the old metal Chaos Dwarf Blood Bowl team, and I loved painting them, the most fun with a brush in my hand for years. So simple and clean cut, a joy. Also, why would you think Emperors Children? I mean, we've seen the new kroot models teased, they'd be way more fun.

Fix brittle 3D printed resin models by adding about 15% "Saraya Tenacious" flexible resin into your resin tank. It's a rubbery material that makes your minis WAY more durable.

I want the new codex to be Tau auxiliaries! Make it the tau version of genestealer cults, where it can be played entirely as its own army, or souped with the main tau codex. Make the tau, empire army, all of the vehicles in battles, suits and infantry, piloted by actual tau, and have the auxiliary army made up of kroot vespid and gue Vesa.

This has always been the aspect of the Tau I liked the most so I'd be a huge supporter for this! The synergy is doubly so, you can release Gue'vesa Auxiliary upgrade sprues for use with existing units as well and they have a laundry list of assimilated species at this point with no models to draw on.
