Their Asian stages, specifically their Asian award stages are spectacular - Western stages do not even come close. I will say though that they did do a great performance on Fallon at Grand Central for their song ON. I’m hoping you get a chance to check it out, along with the dance MV, which is specifically called ON Kinetic Manifesto Film. I completely understand what you mean about the ‘watered-down’ version we receive in the West. Sadly the majority of people here don’t even know just what BTS is capable of and what they are missing out on. Great reaction.

Add to the the fact that the western award shows give BTS a short amount of time and probably restrictions. If BTS did even a 3 min version of their MAMA 2016 performance (to mention an old one), they'll outperform EVERYONE. The truth is that western award shows are not ready to get the reality check that asian award shows are universes ahead in scale, stages, production, technology and filming technique.

Dionysus is the Greek god of wine and ecstasy. If you watch the 2019 MMA awards in one section they all represent Greek gods. This performance is quite theatrical as it features at this award show so needed to be larger than life!

The mma 2019 of this is the best for this song. It includes others but the choreo is even more in it vs this one. Definitely recommend it! It's hard to believe, but they go even harder in that one.

Absolutely. Dionysus at MMA 2019 is not to be missed - extravagant stage production and the added dance break which is just brilliant. They performed two whole sets at MMA 2019 (total of about 35 minutes for BTS alone, at an award show!) but Dionysus was the final song (it's the whole second half of their appearance if you count the lead-up to the song itself, featuring quick solo appearances by the 7 members, one by one).

BTS are all rounders and the general public will Be blown away the moment BTS can release that energy during any one of our mediocre award shows. Even BTS's watered down is at the level of pop artists here. Its why fans say they are above regular pop and it's not just because of their diverse discography or dancing. For me, BTS are artists for healing. Dynamite, ptd are healing songs. Butter is flex. Our boys flex once in a while and don't we love it when they do. I feel like butter too when I'm singing it on long drives. So smooth.

It’s choreo they had to change because Jk hit his face on the ground doing it so there are only a couple performances that have it (MMA 2019 does not). Back then (when Dionysus came out) they were mostly just dancing a lot, because practicing these dances is a good work out on its own. But nowadays since the pandemic hit, more and more members are joining each other going to the gym and working out almost everyday. And we can see that very well, cause despite them talking about it non stop and being hyped up how fun it is to work out, their bodies have changed a lot, especially Namjoon's lol

Bts stamina is high but they get exhausted after long performance as they said the adrenaline hits in with a loud cheering voices of fans.. Not all members doing body workout but the training style and practice is freaking insane.. bts practice singing while walking in high speed treadmill.. (I tried it once not high speed but im failed slowly hard breathing)

Jungkook one of the members uploaded a workout routine on youtube, but the company (hybe) in western society known as the music label has a gym in the company specially for the artist. There is also another gym, but that one is for non-artist who work at the company.

have you noticed that that guy doing the low vice singing is the same guy that did the high part just 1 or 2 seconds later. They were panting for breath after the performance. The dancing nd the whole choreography is well timed and placed so that the singers could sing their parts well despite the choreo, some of them would be doing much of the dancing while the one singing the part would do minimal movements. And you're right they work out a lot, they need coordination and stamina for work.

Yeah you are spot on we get watered down English songs because we can’t handle this here. In Asia BTS headlines an award show like 2019 MMA and used their own money and spent over a million dollars on a 37 min performance with hundreds of extras and dancers the most elaborate stage I’ve ever seen… just during an awards show, they did it to flex how good they are and that they made it. It’s the most spectacular thing but all Asian awards shows are. Here hey don’t even get a 3 min stage alone at the Grammys they had to share a stage with LilNasX. US audiences have no idea what they are missing out in and sometimes I feel the industry doesn’t want us to find out what’s going on in all of kpop.

You mentioned “BlackPink”. Another “girl group” to check out is “Mamamoo” Early in their career they did a cover of Tom Jone’s hit Delilah” which is my favorite because Tom Jones is part of my youth. Performance under KBS World. There is some standard kitsch girl group moves popular 6 years ago, but mostly it’s their vocals and harmonies. And their rapper is a must hear.

One of the reasons why i love bts and dont really enjoy kpop its bc in a lot of kpop songs theres the big tyoical drop, or the songs sounds like three different songs... thats the gypicsk kpop sounds i guess but when i gave the opportunity to bts they didnt have that as much... most of their songs i find them that they flow good and doesnt sound like frankeinstein skngs or dknt have big axx drops ... and the RAP SONGS yisus i love them so much. And the LYRICS... the ,ost important part as a fan of them i think relies on the lyrics. They write so well like they are incredible musicians that really write their own lyrics and produce etc. They are involved in their music as artist and love their songs which is awesome. Lets talk about fancams: I'll try it wth a few numbers: There are over 4000 labels/businesses that put out some kind of albums in SK; by 2013 there were already more than 1 Million people wanting to become Idols; there are 100s of groups debuting every year: most of them won't survive their first 100 days (there was recently a group that dissolved after 5 days) and maybe 1% is staying around for a few years. So if you like a new group that is not from one of the bigger, stable labels (and even they can get less backing by their labels) you need to do more than buy the songs/albums and stream their music. A fancam going viral CAN rescue a group and make them famous and actually earn money (not a given in the idol world). If people say: "oh! That is interesting!" or even "he/she looks cute/is a phenomenal dancer/rapper/singer" and now "I want to know who he/she is and see/hear more" that is helpful. Fan Fact: Billboard Awards has the "Top Social Artist" Award that was the first few years won by Justin Bieber. Than BTS got nominated and won with over 75% of the votes... because Kpop fans had to learn how to win for their faves at different Kpop Awards almost every week. (and BTS has won that award ever since even when Billboard choose to ignore the votes for other categories).

Okay since you brought up the twitter fancam culture, let me tell you something interesting It all started with BTS member Suga performing Seesaw at their concert. It was the first time performing that song and his outfit and dance was a shocker to army basically that fancam blew up because of Army's reaction to the performance and in return Suga's reaction to Armys reaction. So whenever any hater would say anything, Army would just reply with that fancam. It becme the highest viewed fancam on twitter But Army print exists so every other kpop fandom started doing the same to the point it became cringe and borderline irritating

Fancam spamming started long before SUGA's Legendary Seesaw fancam. That's just one that went spectacularly viral. Fans and fansites generate fancams to support their idols from all groups. In 2014, a focus cam on EXID's Hani went viral and put their song at the top of the charts. It literally saved the group. The direct correlation between viral views and chart success taught fans that it was effective advertising, and soon, it became used to excess. Spamming is stereotypical of all younger k-pop fans, but on twitter, locals usually attribute it to ARMY because we are the biggest fandom. ARMY refers to k-pop fans that don't have manners as "kpoppies", and our own ARMYs who spam are also frowned on. At the extreme, fancam spams are being used as a form of bullying. This is one of the problems in fandom culture that makes the divide between ARMY and the rest of k-pop fandom very obvious - along with other issues such as the "BTS are their own genre" thing, and fandoms teaming up to vote against BTS for awards. Fun Note: there is one exception when fancams were used for a force of good, and that is when we all joined together to use it as social activism - hijacking the bigoted hashtags started by trUmp followers and anti-Black Lives Matter racists. In those cases, all ages joined in - even those who had never spammed before. I even made a burner account for it. It drowned out the hate theme of the hashtag and made it so annoying the bigots just gave up. "stan Jimin to cure xenophobia" hehe

I just found you today. I like you and your reaction already. I will subscribe. You have to know this long performance is so very challenging because it's so long. They are true athletes. They do work out. And even though they are in shape...they come off stage gasping for extra oxygen, guzzling water to rehydrate, and falling to the floor to recover. See behind the scene videos to know what I am saying is true. It's fun to watch a new person discover the genius of BTS and see it through your eyes. BTS is in their own category.
