The Good House is one of my favorites. You really can’t go wrong with any of her books. And Mexican Gothic was a favorite of mine this year. I’m really stoked for early vampire novel to come back into print.

Watched this video when it came out but came back bc I just finished Mexican gothic. In the week before Halloween I’m trying to cram some horror books in last minute and I’m so glad I started w Mexican gothic. So weird, so good and as a latinx woman so COOL to see a horror novel not just written by a latinx woman but starring a latinx woman IN Mexico. Huge fan and hope the publishing industry takes note of this awesome book and gives more WOC a chance cuz I know so many are out there prob w super awesome horror stories that are just waiting for a large platform! Recently ordered the good house and am so pumped to get into it!

I absolutely agree with you about Mexican Gothic! I wouldn’t say it was scary (at least for me) but I enjoyed this book so much and it got me out of reading block. ❤️ can’t wait for the tv series. 😊

I'm listening to the audio of Mexican Gothic. I'm 27% in and not enjoying it much. I feel it is slow. I'm still waiting for something exciting to happen. 😒 hopefully it picks up soon. I really do want to love it!!

I feel like I'm the only one who didn't like The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires xD! I liked the themes but the execution fell really flat for me! I would be interested in seeing the adaptation though! And I can't wait to read Mexican Gothic and The Good House!!!
