I've been literally dying for this game it's been so long but I'm still hyped, good luck.

"Armies do not win wars by means of a few bodies of super-soldiers but by the average quality of their standard units. Anything, whatever short cuts to victory it may promise, which thus weakens the army spirit, is dangerous. Commanders who have used these special forces have found, as we did in Burma, that they have another grave disadvantage- they can be employed actively for only restricted periods. Then they demand to be taken out of the battle to recuperate, while normal formations are expected to have no such limitations to their employment. In Burma, the time spent in action with the enemy by special forces was only a fraction of that endured by the normal divisions, and it must be remembered that risk is danger multiplied by time." Ah Slim. Amazing commander. Read one of his books (about his activities in 1930s if I recall). Very true. We deliberately didn't want to do an elite unit like Band of Brothers for reasons akin to what you cite. The reality then though is casualty rates get high. Esp for officers. There we distort. But our justification is we want to give you the emotional connect without putting your through a 1000 meals and road stops . So we lower the casualty rate from historical. So emotional authenticity over physical. Thanks for the quite! Luke(lead)

@@burdenofcommand2094 Perhaps you could release a new game plus mode with realistic casualty rates... Players having to deal with a large influx of new subordinates would definitely be challenging (or downright frustrating)

@@aaronjones2117 Ha, great minds. My vision for BoC 2.0 is dynamic campaigns where much more realistic casualty rates happen. Dynamic meaning maps, narrative, and forces involved built procedurally. Akin to what Steel Panthers did on the wargame front and what Wildermyth did on narrative RPG side.

@burdenofcommand2094 hello, I noticed that the playtester apps link doesn't seems to work, when I click on it, it only leads me to discord as if nothing happened

Are you going to reveal the movement point costs of various types of terrain and other effects on movement?
@burdenofcommand20942 ай бұрын
@@christopherwebber3804 Hi Chris, I believe that is in the Bocopedia? The “?” Button. I know we gave a terrain guide there. If it does not have MPS by terrain there please let me know and we will try to get that rectified :) Feel free to stop by our Discord to chat with team as well: bit.ly/4ex7Ydw BTW I plan to give your videos some coverage tomorrow, do you have a twitter account by chance? Best, Luke

@@christopherwebber3804 p.s. other effects? Besides terrain Bolster increases MPs by 2 and Morale reduces MPS as Morale declines (at least towards enemy but not towards friendly side of map :) ).

@@burdenofcommand2094 Does surrounding an enemy bolster your troops? I had an enemy surrounded before I assaulted it (after failing previous assaults) and the units not attacking had "Bolster!" appear next to them. Maybe I'll find that in the Bocopedia, too
