If there's anything you can relay to them, or them reading comments, well can they keep the focus on POCKETABLE form factor. The likes of AYN Odin, Switch Lite, and GPD Win-3 are definitely NOT pocketable devices. And for their next device, which they might be designing, if they are planning on using a more POWERFUL CHIPSET like the RockChip 3588, can they also give a slightly BETTER DISPLAY. Maybe a 16:9 IPS screen that's around 4.5 inch size with 1280x720 resolution. The last wishlist is just a focus on ERGONOMICS. In particular, making it comfortable to use the four shoulder buttons with two joysticks. This might mean using recessed joysticks above the Action Buttons and D-Pad. But I can't fault them for their: software, price, support, speakers, compactness, open-source, Wifi, Gyro microphone, etc etc. ......maybe the next version can have a User Removable Battery. Either one large unit (5,500mAh) or maybe by stacking two of common Samsung Note-4 batteries (2x 3.2Ah) together.

A few requests: 1) fast scroll down game lists eg using right stick or L1/r1, useful when you have 1000 games in a system 2) Japanese box art bug fix - seems to scrape Japanese art irrespective of version 3) re-order systems in retroid launcher - eg long press on icon and move to location. Eg move Dreamcast after sega saturn, so long press on Dreamcast, then drag to position and finalise change somehow.

List mode is a huge improvement. Very nice. The number one thing I'd like to see added would be favorites. Especially "show favroties on top" option for each system. Thanks for helping them make this awesome!

Yup. They shipped mine with a broken right stick, sent them an email and they sent me a new PCB board and it shipped insanely fast. Was super easy to repair, took about 10 mins or so.

Like the new features! Switching update strategy sounds like a good plan. Here's a couple features I'd love to see roll out in the future! - an option to mark games as completed. Maybe a little green dot or flag that overlays a corner of the box art or something. - sound options for the ui. I'd love to hear scrolling sounds and background music, maybe even having the option to upload all your own sounds. - custom Android app pictures, and the option to view them in banner mode like the emulation section.

Retroid still has a horrible track record. They've released 3 handhelds, 2 of which were absolute garbage. They have horrible Tech Support and Bad Customer Service. Sure Taki's involvement is slowly pulling them out of this hole. But overall I don't trust Retroid yet.

I'd love the L1 and L2 keys to jump to the next and previous letter of the alphabet. I use a Bluetooth controller and a TV connector for a lot of gaming, so scrolling through the letters with the touch screen isn't convenient.

Universal Favorites. Meaning a favorites playlist that can pull in items from any of the supported systems. That is my single biggest need for everything now. The experience of playing games once they’re selected is perfect. But going from one game to another, especially if you have a lot of games and systems, is quite cumbersome. I typically only have a few games at a time I like to switch between, but if they don’t start with the letter A, I’ve got to trudge through quite a bit.

I wish there was a feature to load ROM patches or to view patches as separate ROMs but with correct cover art, so that I can put a bunch of translations directly onto the device, without having to patch every ROM and manually search for correct cover arts since the CRC's become wrong. I guess the logistics for this would be a bit odd since you have to correlate the Patch filenames with the original ROM somehow. I would not mind just putting them in a subfolder with the ROM.

The list mode is exactly what I need. Anything on brightness? I'm hoping the brightness can be lowered more in this new update. Even with the brightness set at the lowest it's still too bright for my liking.

Yeah this is looking very nice, better and better. Hopefully scrolling is smoother now as that's a bit of an issue with big libraries. Menu backgrounds and themes will make this very good.

Is PC Engine CD still missing from the launcher? Seems like every front end I want to use has something minor missing. I love Launchbox for Android, but it won't open AetherSX, DolphinMMJR2, or "Dolphin for Handheld" emulators. So I figured I'd give the Retroid launcher a try and couldn't get it to work with PCE-CD/TurboGrafxCD games. All of this is pretty minor, though, as I can always just open an app and play a game. Still having a blast with the RP2+! Thanks for keeping us in the know, Taki.

It streamlines the UI to have elements of and be more like most other launchers or CFWs. Very customizable, you can alter it however much you want or keep the stock experience if that's what you liked more.

It would be great of L1/R1 buttons can be mapped to jump to the previous/ next character of Alphabet in the game list screens. On a minor wish list, it'd also be great to be able to customise/ assign system icons and arrange the system list. Display game box art icons in their native aspect ratio in grid view would also be appropriated.

Thanks for the update! For the future I would love for Openbor, ScummVM, FDS, & 3DO added to the emulation launcher (with all of them working). I would like to be able to use the analog stick and retro controller on Openbor. I would like the games lists in emulation station to update automatically. Lastly, on games that can rotate the screen like for Android and MAME, I would like the controls to rotate automatically when the game screen rotates.

720p implies a 16:9 aspect ratio. Not sure how you can totally change screen aspect ratio as a DIY upgrade, unless the new screen was only as wide as this screen and not as tall. That would be a downgrade though. More sensible would be if they could source a 1024x768 panel of the same size as this one.

Would love the ability to set a default emulator/core per individual rom. Play a lot of PS1 and some play better on duckstation, others are better on retroarch and it's a bit of a pain remembering which I was using for what game and switching all the time.

Thanks again Taki. Question for you. I seem to have an issue when playing Metal Gear for Ps One. The game seems to dramatically slow down and become unbearably choppy when ever the invisible camouflage is introduced. ie: Cyborg Ninja or Psycho Mantis. It happens in Duckstation standalone or swanstation core.

Just did the OTA update & now none of my roms will read from the SD card. Added folders back & scanned them only for nothing to appear & when a couple finally showed up that's all that would show up is certain ones whereas before all showed up & played perfectly. It's becoming a headache

As an owner of the Rp2+, I would say wait. If there's even the slightest change the RP3 has proper dual analogue sticks and a 16:9 screen, that alone makes it worth the wait.

Hi, Taki! I just wanted to say that I and a few other people I’ve spoken to are having a strange issue with the joysticks after 1.8. They don’t seem to register the full range of motion when they’re pointed in some direction (the direction varies between systems). In example, my left stick, when I push it to the left, acts as if I’m pushing it halfway. This was not a problem before the update. Calibration is strange because it shows the stick being pushed all the way on that screen. It doesn’t seem to fix the problem, however. I was wondering if you know of this problem or how to fix it?

For a lot of time I had problems with my left joystick, when I tilt it to the left the x axis just goes up to 0,83 instead of 1,00, and recently tilting the stick down only reach out until 0,99 the craziest thing is that I haven't even used it that much, I hope it's an update thing and not that the device is not working, what should I do in the meantime?

They would ship with 1.8, but this update isn't a big wireless download. All the updates happen on the device and do not require a PC.
